Upon arrival we waited a bit for someone to show up at the front desk. When he did, he was very friendly and even upgraded us to an ocean view room. The room was clean, quaint, dated but mostly in working order. Much of the metal had a fair amount of rust. The sound of the ocean (and for us, the RAIN) was present and welcome with the window open. So thankful the windows had screens! If weather had permitted we would have definitely availed ourselves of the fire pit and bench overlooking the ocean. It was a great value for what we paid and we’d stay again.

The room was super clean and nicely decorated. Comfy plush bedding, cute cozy and neat decor, proximity to the gorgeous beach, friendliness of the staff..it was the best motel experience ever. Frankly, it was better than most higher end hotel experiences. I highly recommend and I would seek out this motel to stay at next time I need to stay in the area.

Should have stayed when it was warmer

I now wish I had stayed here a month earlier when it was warmer, as the heating unit of the electric heater in the bedroom went out while I was staying there and it got rather cold at night. Certainly a good place to stay with kids and family, as there is a nice large area on the oceanside front of the motel for kids to run around, or sit in front of a campfire and relax when it's not raining.Staff was friendly and the room was clean.

Stopped for the night on my way to my next meeting. Found a friendly, welcoming environment, clean room, easy access to the beach. Watched the sunset from a bench at the edge of the bluff. Was a nice surprise.

This mid-century motel is comfortable and has a friendly staff. They were able to tell me about activities in the area, as well as best photography areas. The best thing about this motel is its location. It's on a cliff above uncrowded Tillicum beach with easy stair access from the property. I will definitely stay here again.

Check-in was not efficient, we were greeted by a sign that said "be back soon" and waited in the lobby for about 15 minutes for a human to show up. Our room had all the lights and TV on when we walked in. It felt like someone had just been in there hanging out? TV instructions were ridiculously complicated. Chairs were really uncomfortable. Whole room looked like it had been given a half hearted redo. Honestly the whole place looks tired. Went to the lobby for morning coffee at 7:45am to find it locked tight. The one thing really going for it is the close proximity to the beach. But for the $192. we paid it was disappointing.

Beware of the offer of a Ocean View

Having stayed here before we know what an Ocean View is and we did not have it even though we paid more to have one! The dvd player idea sounds great to enjoy a movie on a rainy evening. We tried two different dvd’s but neither worked.
