The room was average, cleeaniness could be better. The cups and kettle was filthy. There was no disturbence by the other people which was a plus point. There is a bus stop just outside the lodge from which you can get a bus to city centre.
Reasonably convenient location to city centre. No reception, had to phone a number to gain access of which I didnât like, I prefer someone at the location to at least provide a key and give information if asked
There is no staff. I am from Japan. I did not take the phone number. But my daughter had the phone number so we could check-in. If you came here without the phone I would not recommend it. Also, I would recommend this hotel. It is quite far from the city if you would like to see Central.
Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. I especially appreciated being able to leave my luggage, and when I came back, I had a very friendly welcome.
The hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk to the centre of York, and although it's on a main road, I didn't hear any traffic. I'll stay again.
Text received to change my accommodation 3 hours after I was due to check in. Not where I originally booked. Ended up 15 minutes out of Town. Light curtains with a streetlight outside made the room like daylight all night. Adequate facilities. Luke warm shower . Otherwise ok.
