The cabin we stayed in was neat, clean, notable for the absence of any critters at all inside the cabin. The kitchen area allows only one person at a time, but a fair trade-off for the setting. The setting inside Yosemite NP is iconic, surrounded by huge ponderosa pines and just a short drive from Yosemite Valley including El Capitan, Bridal Veil Falls, and a sequoia grove. The cabin is at the south end of the NP, and a long drive from the park's visitor center, but loads of nature close to the cabin.
We loved everything about our stay. Accurate description, appropriately appointed, and a great location for visiting the park. We even arrived @ 945pm, and had an issue with the ac. Maintenance came quicjly and hepped us out. Would love to come and stay again!ca.came quicjly and helped figure it out.
This place is awesome. We stayed here for Thanksgiving two years ago and came back for a weekend in the spring. So nice, so quaint. Perfect weekend getaway to restore your mental health with nature and fresh air. House is fully stocked with cooking equipment and the wood burning fireplace adds so much to the cabin experience.
The cabin is as expected - very rustic and cozy. Unfortunately, there were mice droppings in the utensil drawers and pots/pans shelves. I talked to the office the following morning and the maintenance folks set some traps (caught one). I don't know why the office didn't think to send in the cleaning crew to clean the drawers as there were mice droppings after I reported the incident! I always clean my utensils, plates, pots before using at all rental places and I'm glad I have this habit. I will not be staying here again. I don't mind rustic as long as the place is clean. mice poop in the kitchen is an automatic no go.
According to the map, the property was the only one on the street. Yet it was surrounded by cabins.
The carpet was too dirty. The bed was too hard.
I left a list with the front desk of other issues.
Cozy cabin but just seemed really overpriced. VRBO charges seemed really high. Was very nice being so close to the Yosemite Valley though. Strange crinkly not fitting plastic pad on bed. Very close to other cabins, which is not obvious from the photos.
This cabin was perfect for our family of 3 (couple with college-age son). The cabin was so clean and well organized. Everything was exactly as pictured in the listing. We especially loved the wrap around deck and the grill. We did most of our meals out there. Our son was very comfortable on the futon bed. The main bedroom is small, it was a bit hard to get in and out of the bed, but that is the only complaint. We loved being away from the crowds in the valley and having peace and quiet. We would absolutely stay at this property again.
It was a cute cabin that desperately needs an update. Fireplace was darling but smelled of half burned wood that was left in it. Carpets were so dirty that my socks got dirty walking on them. Lighting hasn't been changed in several decades. Watch out when exiting the back door as it will automatically lock you out. We cooked most of our meals in the cabin which was a plus. Stove and fridge work great!
Overall we had a great time. Location to the parks were great, check in was easy and we liked sitting on the deck taking in the nature around us. We did think that the cabin could use some updates including a new mattress.
It was quiet and beautiful stay near the South entrance. It was a rustic neighborhood and was lovely to hear the Chihualna Falls nearby. The outdoor deck extended the cozy living space. Although the stone fireplace is beautiful, the smell of smoke from previous use was strong in the living environment. We did find the bed and futon comfortable and the galley kitchen equipped for cooking. We were happy to have stayed for 6 days.
We had a great time hiking in Yosemite.
Cabin is a bit small but enough for two people.
We couldnât find the dishwasher where we were supposed to put all the dirty dishes (as stated in the instructions on how to leave the cabin). But other than that we had all we needed!
This rustic little cabin met my needs for a nice stay inside the park. All the snow melt meant I could easily hear the Merced River from the cabin. The river and lesser-visited but powerful Chilnualna Falls are an easy walk from the cabin. A short moderate climb to the upper cascades of the lower falls will not fail to impress. Wawona residents are very friendly and the community is full of wildlife. I loved stargazing every night from the lounge chair on the deck and mornings with Stellar Jays, squirrels, tiny lizards and nesting sharp-shinned hawks. There were some issues with the cabin. I reported the failure of several windows to latch and lock, which property management rectified immediately. The bedroom and bathroom doors don't latch or lock, and the grill wouldnât light which required me to borrow a utility lighter from a neighbor - so management should correct these issues - I reported them at checkout. I didn't use the fireplace but loved the scent of woodsmoke. Instructions should be included on using and pairing the stereo. Management was very helpful, friendly and responsive! The Redwoods is across the river from the Wawona Hotel, a 3 mile meadow loop, store, gas, library and Pioneer Museum. Be sure to chat with the only NPS ranger/stagecoach driver, Buckshot, to learn all about this fascinating history. 10 min to Mariposa Grove and a scenic 25 min drive to Tunnel View on your descent to the Valley.
We had several problems with the propane fumes leaking in the cabin. We opened all the doors and windows. Property manager look hour to respond. They provided back up heaters for us to use instead of the propane.
This little cabin was perfect. We could not have been more comfortable or satisfied. We hope to return and will request this same cabin again. Owners have added charm to this dreamy cabin.
