The cabin was a beautiful getaway for my family. It is a short distance to several state parks with waterfalls. If you need a place to stay where itâs peaceful and quiet, this is the place for you.
The cabin was nicely presented and equipped with everything we needed. We loved the isolated feeling, although it was only a short drive to the nearest village and shop. Contacting the owner to obtain access when we arrived was a little difficult because cell reception is poor there (the WiFi is excellent however).
This was our second experience in the cabin and once again it did not disappoint. Wonderful mornings drinking coffee on the expansive covered outdoor deck listening to all the calls and whispers of nature surrounding us. Beautiful grounds with colorful wildflowers and the magic of sitting outside during severe thunderstorms was memory making. Nighttime fireflies light up the meadow adjacent to the cabin. It is our perfect respite after the stresses of daily life and responsibilities.. I read 4 books and loved every minute.. It is very important that guests know the reception for phone calls is almost non existent however texts all go through.. This worked for us since we knew we were on "the grid" but not fully. Treat yourself and we hope to go back next summer.
Our stay was just heavenly!! So peaceful!! I didnât want to leave the porch!! The cabin had everything we needed and was so incredibly clean!! Even though it was tucked back in the woods, we didnât even see one bug inside!! Canât wait until our next stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin surrounded by nature. The peaceful setting and lack of cell phone signal made it perfect. We especially loved sipping coffee on the deck while taking in the forest views, and the outdoor firepit was a great touch. Thank you for the thoughtful gift of wine!Just a heads-up to future guests: the cabin is quite remote, so be sure to bring everything you might need and save the directions ahead of timeâthere's no cell service in the area. It would also be helpful if the kitchen were a bit more stocked with basic essentials.
It was a great place to stay and close to state parks. ( Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, Robert Treman, and Taughannock. It had most main essentials for basic cooking, but only gave us 2 washcloths for family of 5. Nice grill and firepit to enjoy. Very clean and good communication from the hosts. Very pretty secluded area but only 20 minutes away from a town with a store or restaurant.
If you are looking for a secluded getaway but still close to the nearest attractions this is the place. We had a wonderful stay. The host is attentive to all your needs. The cabin has everything you need.
Thank you so much for sharing your cabin! Location was great to all the hiking near by! We enjoyed doing sâmores by the fire!! House was great and host is very quick to respond :) would definitely recommend this place!
The location was just of a main road, but it felt like we were far into the woods. The road off the main road was a little rocky which made us glad that we drove our Jeep.
We were able to see numerous stars in the night sky from the deck. Everything we needed was inside the cabin from a hair dryer to utensils for the grill. We wished we could have stayed longer. It is equal distance from Watkins Glen and Ithaca. Numerous great places to hike with the best for us being Watkins Glen Gorge and Buttermilk Falls. Our best meal was at the Wagner Winery and Southern Pete BBQ. The property manager was helpful. If you are looking for a place to do some serious wine tasting this is a great spot to be.
It's very quietly located, but close to all locations we were visiting. The cabin is clean and pleasant. It can use better kitchen supplies including pots, pans and knives for people who need to cook. The pond is a walk, and could be missed if you don't walk all the way in the trail. Overall, we loved our stay.
This cabin is tucked away in a perfect area. You are within 30 min of Watkins Glen and Ithaca and all the sights around them. The cabin is well appointed with all you may need, including laundry and a dishwasher. There is a large wraparound porch with comfortable chairs as well as a flat top grill.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this area and would recommend this cabin/host.
Note: For anyone with mobility issues, please know that there isnât a bathroom on the 2nd floor sleeping area.
Cabin is beautiful! The drive way is stone and can be a bit hard to find. The cabin itself is nicer than pictures show. We did not use pull out beds, however the mattress on the beds we used were comfortable. This cabin is the perfect location between Ithaca and Watkins Glen. Perfect place to relax after hiking. If you are reading this and are tall you will love the shower. It is set up for tall people.
Great cabin in an isolated rural country-side. More spacious than we expected (party of 4 adults toddler). Loved waking up each morning to the songs of birds while seated at the patio. Kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. There is a heater in the basement that more than warms up the entire house.
Easily accessible to the nearby trails and waterfalls. And those country roads can get tempting to anyone with a lead foot! Be careful though.
The host was very responsive - contacted him almost at midnight as we had lost our way. Would definitely recommend arriving at the cabin during daylight just to get an idea of where to turn in!
Quiet, beautiful log cabin equipped with everything for a wonderful relaxing stay. Plan ahead for meals as the location is really remote. We loved it and the peacefulness of the area. Enjoy!
