This trip was the first experience Iâve had of a big gap between what I expected and what I found when I arrived: the enclosed patio looks lovely in the photos, but it was overrun with weeds, and the furniture looked the worse for wear. Thereâs only one light source in the main living room areaâa ceiling fan with three bulbs, only one of which worked. The AC is provided by wall-mounted units. Luckily the weather was pretty mild, but when I tried the unit in the larger bedroom all I got was warm air, and the remote didnât seem to be working. The photographs of the location are very deceptive, itâs nowhere near as isolated as it appears (itâs quite close to a busy two-lane road). For me the biggest letdown was the bathroom. The jets on the jacuzzi bath had clearly not been cleaned in a while, and even after I tried to get them clean myself, when I filled the tub and turned it on there was still a bunch of fine debris everywhere, rendering it pretty unusable. I also went to Target and replaced the discolored, molded shower curtain liner myself. I decided to go ahead and stay at the property because this was a vacation from a very stressful job, and I didnât want to bother with the hassle of dealing with the property manager or Vrboâthe best option wouldâve been to move and I simply didnât have the energy. The property is fine place to stay if youâre planning on doing a lot of other things, but if youâre planning to stay in for long stretches you might want to keep looking.
