Beautiful Historic Hotel

Beautiful hotel with excellent service. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant includes a wonderful buffet spread and items made to order. There are some beautiful parks and museums close by, and old town Zagreb is just a few blocks away.

We booked 3 nights in Zagreb. We found out that our flight was cancelled due to airline strike and we had to leave a day early. The hotel was not willing to consider a partial refund, not even the 2 days of breakfasts that were prepaid. Our stay was affected by a dignitary party staying while we were there (president of Montenegro for a soccer match). This made the experience less pleasant with staff and many guards in the sitting areas and guarding elevators and doors. We travel a fair amount and have not had an experience like this before staying in a luxury hotel where staff and management not willing to consider any adjustment to our bill. Would not recommend this hotel in the future. Very disappointed in lack of support from Expedia.

Very nice hotel. All the staff was friendly and helpful with dinner reservations. The hotel location was great for walking to site seeing attractions. The only thing I did not care for was when we were in the lounge one night there were a couple of people with their dogs. For such a nice hotel I did not expect to see dogs.
