Day One: Phnom Kulen National Park
Start your tour at 7:30 AM and travel to the Phnom Kulen National Park. This is where the 500-year long Age of Angkor began. Phnom Kulen is the mountain on which King Jayavarman II initiated the royal 'God the King' Linga cult in 802 AD.
Day Two: Beng Mealea - Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Phnom Bakheng
Begin your day at 8:00 AM and travel to a sprawling jungle temple, Beng Mealea, which covers an entire square kilometre. Have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense). On the way, stop at the Kampong Phluk floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. At 4:30 PM, purchase a 3-day temple pass for the next three days. Then, head to Phnom Bakheng to see a fantastic sunset.
Day Three: Angkor Thom - Ta Prohm
Starting at 8:30 AM, you'll head to the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Then, visit some of the smaller temples, including Chau Say Tevoda, Thommanon, and Ta Keo. Once again, stop for lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense). Afterwards, head to the jungle temple, Ta Prohm where the film Tomb Raider was shot.
Day Four: Preah Khan - Angkor Wat
Starting at 8:30 AM, visit Preah Khan, a huge monastic complex. You'll then visit some other temples, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup, and Banteay Kdei followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Head to Angkor Wat and explore this incredible monument at your own pace.
Day Five: Angkor Wat - Banteay Samre - Banteay Srei - Roluos Group
Have an early start at 5:00 AM to view the fantastic sunrise at Angkor Wat, followed by a visit to one temple, Banteay Samre. Then, head to Banteay Srei and see a traditional Khmer village and palm sugar production. Head to Roluos Group, where monuments representing the remains of Hariharalaya are located. This was also the first major capital of the Angkorian-era of the Khmer Empire.
