The Castle is adequate for a one night stay given lack of options in Accrington itself and close to town centre and transport links. However room was noisy due to traffic being on a major road junction. To balance it is a good pub with friendly and helpful staff.
This was a cheap and basic room i booked for a quick overnight stay to break up a long drive home. It suited my needs just fine and i have no complaints for less than ÂŁ40 The polite young lady who showed me to my room gave me all the necessary info and checked i was happy with the room. No food at the venue so i got a couple of things from local supermarket.
Really gem this place....Met by bar manager with a free drink....Everyone calls Everyone Darling....Friendly...Even the local Police were playing darts...Definitely stay again on my cycling travels. Tip for breakfast Wetherspoons 5 min away.
Hotel staff extremely friendly/helpful.
up north people are anyway. Perfect location for business/leisure 4 mins from shopping centre. Room adequate, clean and tidy and bed comfortable enough. You can come and go at your own leisure. No late time limit as you get back door gate key. The only negative is no shower gel soap or hair dryer. I forgot mine so ensure you bring some. Good tea and coffee facilities and porridge pots also provided. Overall good value for money
Booked here for an event in Burnley when all the local hotels were full, and very glad I did. Basic rooms above a pub but the room was comfortable, warm, quiet, and everything you could need for a sort stay. The pub itself was fantastic: friendly and lively, and the management and staff were welcoming, helpful, and lovely. Would be very tempted to come back just to spend the night in the pub. Recommended.
Only had a hand towel, parking is shown as secure and itâs just street parking, very noisy area due to being on a major junction( not the hotels fault) no food including no breakfast. Poor decor and wasnât impressed with the room at all very tired, on the positive side the staff were extremely freindly
I stayed there during the recent heatwave. I was really impressed with the tower fan and all efforts to keep the place cool so my stay was extraordinary. The friendliness was out of this world. The brilliant selection of real ales which were at a very cheap price. The ensuite shower was superb which was one of the features to make my stay luxuriously comfortable, most relaxing and heavenly.
The bed and ample pillows were a sheer delight for a restful night.
The landlord was extra accommodating by going out of his way so I could use my room a lot earlier than the check in time as I had travelled all night. The room was not spotlessly clean which I didn't mind as I would have had to wait longer to be able to use the room.
TV had great channels on it. I appreciated the Quaker pot of porridge left for a healthy breakfast.
The Castle is in a superb location and I had great views from my window of the Pennines and Accrington town centre which brought many reminiscing memories of when I lived in the area. It is in easy walking distance to most shops that you way want to visit, with local hairdresser, health and beauty businesses and of course restaurants and cafes.
There were numerate recycling bins out the back so very eco friendly.
Great sense of humour in the pub with excellent facilities such as pool table.
Tremendous value for money. As I had booked the single room well in advance it came at an amazing price which was really affordable. Will definitely be staying again!
