This home is perfect! I agree with other reviewers that the place is better than pictures show. It's a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and market. Plenty of space to relax both inside and outside. The home has most of the nessesities you'll need. We did need to pick up shampoo/soap for showering. There's a grocery store a few blocks away that will have anything you need and Carole has a shopping trolly for you to use. I highly recommend this place. When we come back, I'm going to plan my trip on when its avaliable!

Perfect location. Perfect oasis right in town walkable to everything! The house is a home so was very cozy. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the patio. Drove to all the big towns for day trips. Cons which didn’t affect our holiday: tricky front door entrance; too cool solar heated pool to swim; resident cuddly cat if you’re allergic; English not spoken so translation apps required. Some things lost in translation. Thanks Carole, we loved your home and my French improved a lot!

We were looking for shady, outdoor space within easy walking distance of old town Aix. Plenty of opportunity to find quiet time among a group of 6 old friends. Carol was a considerate host, there when we had questions. She is in residence in the off season and her home was the most fully equipted rental we’ve had. We found what we were looking for. Beautiful home! Carole was a perfect host! Her home is filled with personal art, family photos and even a resident cat ( that only stays in the yard!). The place is quiet and safe. 15 min stroll to the center of the city.We cannot wait to come back!Merci!

Great Accommodation

Wonderful accommodation walking distance from the center of Aix and maybe more importantly, walking distance from a small bakery which made breakfast a delite. The house has great outdoor spaces for gathering and relaxing and plentiful space inside if you want to avoid the elements. The house has 3 cosy bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs with a separate shower and toilet downstairs. Although we didn't get chance to use it there is also a pool which was well kept. The host was great, easy to reach and answered any questions we had during our stay.

Well located house….

Carole was fabulous. Very responsive and welcoming to her home. Outdoor shower and pool area were a highlight, and easy walk to town for food and drinks. House was well equipped. Be prepared that this is a home vs rental property, so lots of personal items. No hanging space in some rooms and bedrooms are on the small side.

Spacious, comfortable house in great location

We had a great time staying at Carole’s house. Carole herself was very welcoming and showed us around. The house has aircon upstairs and downstairs, a really well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a swimming pool, outdoor seating and a couple of friendly neighbourhood cats. It is an easy walk into Aix with its historic centre, restaurants, bars and fountains. Carole came to the house as we left and was happy with the state of the house. She had mentioned a cleaning fee during the week but as this was not included in the booking description, this was not paid. We’d highly recommend Carole’s house for a relaxing, comfortable stay and we’d go back.

Lovely house in excellent location

The House is situated within walking distance of the Centre of Town so is very convenient. There is parking out the front. There are 2 living areas and the AC worked well downstairs on hot days. There are 2 bathrooms which was very convenient. The kitchen is very large and with everything you need. The pool was also enjoyed by the children. There are 3 small bedrooms upstairs with one AC in the hallway. Worked ok if the bedroom doors were left open. The house was spotless and Carole was very contactable if there were any questions.

Great location within walking distance to Cours Mirabeau and center of town. Very safe area. Supermarket close walk. Would stay again gladly. Host was easy to contact and stayed in touch with us during our 9 day stay.

Serene Setting in Aix en Provence

Carole is a wonderful host. She met us with a lovely aperitif, then proceeded to review the home and how everything worked. Even though she had prepared a booklet with the information, it's always nice to have the host review and emphasize important information. If you're planning a visit to Aix - this is a great location to use as your base.

Beautiful home, perfect location.

We arrived and were greeted by Carole. She gave us a list of house functions and information in English.I tried to bone up on my French before we got to France but I definitely wasn’t able to have a full conversation in French. The house and property were really great. Tranquil and beautiful, very close to all we wanted to see in Aix. In the house profile it said that both English and Dutch were spoken, but English was not spoken and communication was challenging.Three days into our visit Carole messaged me that she was going to come the next day to water the plants. Can’t say I’ve ever had a host come during stay….and I’ve stayed in VRBO’s a lot.Had to have some communication that was not easy as I had to translate each message and it was both time consuming and a bit frustrating. All that said,I would stay here again, hopefully my French will be more conversational at that point.Carole was reassured that we were responsible guest and we really loved everything about this property.Also WIFi code didn’t work and was not resolved.With a bit less communication/ translation this house was really great and our stay was very satisfying. I would recommend it.

Aix in August

We are a family of four (two adults and two kids ages 8 and 10 years) and had an absolutely wonderful week at Carole's home. Throughout the booking process, check in, the entire stay, and check out, Carole was a welcoming, accessible, and gracious host. Her house was everything we wanted and could have hoped for - a quiet neighborhood with close access to everything needed on foot and 5 minutes to the city center. The house is well-equipped with everything you might need, including a superb kitchen, AC, a perfect pool, and multiple outdoor areas, including a covered sitting area by the pool, another sitting area, and a large outdoor dining area. The pictures are accurate but don't do justice to the lovely experience of being in this tranquil and lovely home. Merci mille fois, Carole - we are already wondering when we can return next!

Excellent séjour

Très belle villa située à deux pas du centre d’Aix en Provence dans un quartier calme. La maison est grande, très confortable et très lumineuse. Elle dispose de l’air conditionné au rez-de-chaussée et à l’étage, essentiel durant les grandes chaleurs. Le clou du spectacle est la piscine extérieure qui permet de se rafraîchir. Cependant, attention aux moustiques qui sévissent dans le sud de la France. Il faudra bien se badigeonner pour éviter d’être dévoré vivant près de la piscine. L’hôte, Carole, est très avenante et très accueillante. Nôtre séjour était excellent.

Sehr schönes Haus nahe des Zentrums

Wir wurden herzlich von Carole begrüßt. Auch während unseres Aufenthalts hat sie immer ab und an nachgefragt, ob es uns gut geht. Ihr Haus ist wunderschön, genau wie auf den Fotos zu sehen. Es ist alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und es ist alles da was man braucht. Besonders gut hat uns der Pool nach einem heissen Tag gefallen. Herzlichen Dank, Carole, dass wir ihr Haus bewohnen durften.
