A lot left to be desired!

It wasn't terrible but I wanted to offer feedback to the property owner and potential guests since my experience was a bit of a let down.The home is in such a peaceful and tranquil location, but the cleanliness and amenities leave a lot left to be desired at this price point.Positives:QuietPeacefulComfortableHot tubKayaksViewNegatives:Dirty - Obviously had not been professionally cleaned. Dishes, silverware and glassware were dirty. The main window (view of the lake) was grimy, full of cobwebs and obviously hadn't been cleaned in months. Supplies - We brought a bunch of food for a cookout and ended up having to doordash because the propane tanks for the gas grill were empty. The mosquito's, cobwebs and bugs were super heavy too so it was obvious the property is not maintained with regular pest control.Cheap - Everything from the folgers coffee in the cabinet to the, dishes, cookware, towels and linens were just cheap.Overall, it's a beautiful location and our dog and family made the best of it but its essentially a party pad on the lake, which is ironic considering how the owners claim to have decibel readers--LOL.With some attention to detail, it could easily be a 4-star property, but probably best suited for visitors who need a lot of beds and bring their own supplies (including a propane tank for the grill).

We had a wonderful time at this property! Such a wonderful view of the lake with lots of activities. The hot tub looked brand new! We had a great time using the kayaks. They also had a pack n play, high chair, and baby gate. Dan was extremely responsive and we did not have any issues! The driveway is steep, however we did not have any issues getting up and down.

Dan knocked it our of the park!!!

The house was very clean, and well equipped with everything I needed. Coffee in the morning Comfy Beds TV’s and Entertainment a beautiful lake with kayak’s. The wildlife was awesome. The communication with the homeowner was spot on, even though I had a lot of questions and requests. I will be staying here again in the future, and if it’s full I’ll use one of his other properties!

Nice Location

This is a cute house and redone very well. Kitchen had what we needed to make meals, and everything was well stocked. It was nice to have the deck off the one bedroom, and beds were comfy. We really liked the open concept of the first floor so we could all hang out. And the kayaking was fun! The yard is not fully fenced for pets as I thought but that was ok we just leashed em. We all loved being so close to lake had a nice fire. Enjoyed the pretty views!

A great place to stay on the lake!

We had a great time staying here and will most likely try to book again next time we come to the area for concerts! The house had everything needed for a relaxing stay. Its pretty close to Blossom Music Center and Cleveland so it was the perfect home base for a weekend of concerts and the rock n roll hall of fame. My boyfriend enjoyed the nba jam arcade game and it was really nice to have dinners and breakfast out on the patio by the lake. Driveway is steep but we had no problem getting our subcompact car up and down the driveway and we left the suv at the summit parking with no issue. They had treats there for the pup too which she immediately found and enjoyed. Really great place to stay!

The property met every expectation listed. We had an issue with the TV, contacted John, he worked us through the problem. Other than that, we loved this stay and will book again in June for the Senior Golf Tournament.

Great Eclipse Viewing Spot

Our group of 8 spent a long weekend in Akron to view the eclipse and this property was great for our needs. The views were top-notch, the amenities were great, and the beds were comfy! We paddled and played and relaxed and had an all-around wonderful time.

New Year Vacation

This place was a great start to our new year. We were visiting family nearby and hosted them for a few dinners. My husband and I love to cook and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Dan sent detailed check-in instructions so arriving and entering the property was flawless and communication was great! The lake views from both floors are spectacular! Will definitely stay here again when we are back in town.

Relocation and holiday stay in December

Excellent communication and hospitality by the owners which made us feel welcome and appreciated. Could not have asked for a better rental while house-hunting and holiday shopping combined. We stayed in the winter, but the lake views in the kitchen and bedroom were so nice to watch the snow come down. Long views of the lake with very distant homes across the lake made it seem more secluded though we were in the middle of town. We would stay again and have sent links to others who also might need a rental.

Very quaint Lakehouse, tucked in a very welcoming town.

Our stay was short and was not particularly planned to enjoy any of the lake house amenities nor local festive activities happening in the town during our stay. We were in town just to pick up a puppy however, the stay was comfortable and did serve our needs. It basically rained the two days we were there, but this was to no avail due to our situation and reason for staying. Overall, nice place and totally wouldn’t mind coming back during the summer season.

Beautiful Lakeside Home

This property provided a wonderful and much needed retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The views of the lake from the home are beautiful especially with the changing colors of the trees this time of year. We had so much fun playing the throwback Nintendo games and couldn’t have asked for better communication with the owners.

What a gem sitting right on Portage lakes!

This place was perfect for our family getaway! It was very clean, great location, peaceful, and nicely decorated. Communication with the host was wonderful and check in went smooth. Our family had a blast playing the Arcade game, the board games and kayaking with Kayaks found in the shed. There is a lovely shaded patio with a grill where the family can gather and dine. My husband especially enjoyed fishing right from the yard. We will be back next summer for sure!

Quick family getaway

Enjoyed our stay this past weekend. The kids loved being able to jump in the kayaks and go. We rented a pontoon boat from Dusty Landings and toured the lakes (another great experience). It was nice to come back to a very quiet and peaceful setting.
