This was a wonderful trip with the family. The tent was such a fun experience. Good to get away from technology but was still able to access it if needed in the lobby. Breakfast burritos and sâmores ever night were something to look forward to. Close to the falls and sand dunes.
Having bathrooms and showers were a bonus. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but still overall a great time. Would definitely go back and stay here again.
Great place to stay! They made the campfires and scampers each night. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were very clean. Everyone was super nice, breakfast was great, location to the national park was perfect.
I would plan on buying a grill packet in advance because that is something we missed and would have enjoyed.
I didn't think the bugs would bother me in the tent, but i must admit sleeping with a constant flow of ants in the bed was too much. I think it was a little over priced but the family enjoyed it and we all liked the staff.
Beautiful views ! Tents could be in better condition as well as the bedding . We have stayed at similar tented camps and for the price the amenities are lacking . Some unwanted bed guests .Zipper on my tent was broken but was fixed after we checked in . Tents very close together. We had some noisy neighbors . Donât arrive before 3 . No one is there to help before . We arrived at 2:45 .
It advertised as "glamping" and "homesteading" experience. I live in an RV and I travel to explore to experience things. The wood stove in the tent was just for a fire when its cold, only. I was given a battery pack that powerd the tinest fan that I have ever seen and a small lantern. I was told that there was no eating in the tents and community grills and tables are on the other side of the camp.
I packed for cooking on my woodstove and having some sort of power source. It is a neat place and I just think that I would have had a better time if I wasn't expecting it to have glamping or homesteading elements to it and instead the dry camping that it actually is. Clean. Nice staff. Great dark skies!
Beautiful location, near the Great Sand Dunes and wonderful star gazing. The staff were family and supportive. The tent we stayed in was wonderful. The shared bathrooms and were clean and the staff did an excellent job of attending to any consistent clean up. Campers should be prepared for cooler nights but overall a great experience.
The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
We stayed at the Rustic Rook due to the proximity to Great Sand Dunes NP. It was extremely quiet, as it was during the week just after labor day -- only one other tent was occupied, which made it relaxing but also a little scary! We stopped in Alamosa for some easy dinner options, but the other couple staying at the time took advantage of the resorts option to have dinner items to grill. It was VERY windy and it rained off an on but the tents stayed dry inside and warm with the wood-burning stove. It was nice to have the provide power banks for our phone and the lanterns to get to the restrooms and main building/fire pit after dark. Other than hearing coyotes yipping close by at 1 am (!!!) and being unable to see stars due to the rainy weather, it was a fairly successful glamping experience
We stayed in an Estate Tent which were all so close to each other. We could hear the neighbor snoring. Had bug problem due to a tear on the tent, back right of the sofa foot collapsed when we tried to sit. I would not recommend
