We stayed at the Hunting Lodge for a long weekend to celebrate my husband's 40th. The house is beautiful, in a gorgeous setting with lots of lovely walks on your doorstep. The house is well maintained, with all mod-cons whilst still maintaining its character and charm. All our guests noted they slept well and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Alison, the housekeeper, was very attentive, sending a welcome email the night before our arrival and was on hand for any last minute queries we had.
The only concerns future guests should note is 1) the walls are exceptionally thin, with little to no sound-proofing. As such, children were kept awake upstairs simply by adults having normal volume conversations downstairs, and 2) the house is located immediately next door to what appears to be a small industrial setting, which was empty during our stay but once filled again I could imagine would impede on the feeling of privacy.
