House was clean and easy to find check in was standard lock box I stayed with my parents my wife and 2 kids and was perfect for that amount of people. House was build in 1910 and has lots of settling issues kinda feels like a fun house at the amusement park second and third floor roof lines are not great for anyone over 5â6â( hit my head multiple times) outside amenities are nice minus the dock area that is under an oak tree with a sand beach that gets all over the side of the boat when it rains dock also has an awkward approach and is super shallow my 21 foot bow rider was very tight for an experienced boater with the out drive all the way up. Overall a clean place to stay on the lake close to town and was a fine place to hang out while not on the lake
I wish we could say we were happy but we were not. The house is owned by Vacanza, they own properties around the lake. Please keep in mind we were ok with the inside... we did not complain to them about the outside as we went to use the outside on the last day and a half so we felt what was the point. Hopefully they will make some updates and changes. Positives about the property:Location Access to water if you like canoeing or kayaking. Comfortable rooms except Attic, Too small for adults. Two kitchensNegatives. Listing pics need to be updated to reflect present condition. Sand and outdoor furniture noted on listing very dirty and stained. Area smelled like a cat box unfortunatelyGrill was not suitable for use, needs a deep cleaning. Noise from the bridge / road.
We booked this property for the Meredith ice fishing derby weekend and overall was not impressed. The online listing made it look PERFECT for us and it did not meet our expectations. The house definitely does not sleep 14 comfortably, yes technically it can sleep 14, but not comfortably. Thereâs only 3 bedrooms. The rest sleep on pullout couches and a trundle bed on the porch. Upon arriving, not much was shoveled so we were able to utilize the fire pit or grill unless we shoveled. The hot tub had a film on the water, mold on the cover and appeared as if it had not been maintained in a while (although management stated it was serviced a day before our arrival). We were told there was a drip coffee maker and planned for accordingly. Upon arrival there was a keruig, which was broken. Management did respond quickly and got a new one to the house within a few hours. The heat is very irregular through the house. The couple who slept in the bed on the porch froze the first night and ended up buying a heated blanket. The family in the top floor roasted because it was so hot. Lastly, we did not have direct access to the ice like we thought, which was very important to us. I will give credit where it is deserved though. This house is quite cute and cozy. I think it would be a better fit in the summer rather than the winter and for less people, maybe 10. Check in and contacting management for support was easy and they were quick to respond.
The house was in a good location. The pictures made it look larger than it is. Rooms are small for a large group. The house was not cleaned well before our stay: dishes were dirty, floors and carpet not cleaned, and stove top was dirty. Also, could not get stove top on second level to work.
Would have been nice to a have a table to eat as a group.
Location is very convenient - grocery within a 10 min ride, easy access to the Lake, dining, and popular Winnipesaukee villages around the lake. The amenities were generous - including towels and linens at the location, travel shampoo/condition/soaps available, fully stocked kitchen with dish soap and other kitchen tools available.
The kitchen is tight and the central artery of the house, which made it difficult with 12 people. I'd recommend bringing a mattress pad or something for the pull out sofas which account for 2 of the 4 double beds in the home.
Overall, a positive experience, but could use some updating to add comfort to the stay.
Too tight for 14 people as advertised. It's good for 2 families (max 10 people). There are not many sleeping places as mentioned.
There are no locks to the bathrooms which was very inconvenient
Overlooking the lake with many cozy places to hangout and a hot tub, this was the perfect place for a family getaway. We traveled here in the winter and are looking forward to returning in the spring.
The check in process didnât go as expected. The house was unlocked, which ended up fine but just was a little weird. The place was clean and the host was INCREDIBLY responsive. We had different expectations from the pictures online in terms of waterfront. There technically is water in front, but we had little kids and thought they would be able to play outside in the water, but itâs mostly mud and sticks, no real sandy shallow area. The older kids were good getting the paddle boards in and out of the water, but itâs definitely not easy⊠the canoe is interesting taking it in and out. The access to water from whatâs allowed is small, but it is manageable⊠just not super easy.
The host did let us use another boating area across the road, which was PERFECT for ALL the kids. Very pleased with how accommodating he was. The additional paddle board rental process was flexible and affordable, which was great.
Overall a fine experience. The bunk room needs a AC unit.
Would highly recommend this home. The owner was very attentive and answered all our questions promptly before and throughout our stay. House is beautiful and in a great location. Our family had a wonderful memorable week.
We really enjoyed the area. The paddle board, kayak, and canoe were really enjoyable, as was the hot tub. Loved the outdoor seating area. The busy road was a little concerning at first. The property manager was very kind and we were able to reach him easily.
Property could use a few updates. The porch was rotting near the grill which we noticed upon arrival. Unfortunately, a foot went through it. I alerted the property owner right away. Steve called me immediately and I asked for a board to put over it. I did not hear from him again and we did not recieve anything to cover the hole. If we had kids with us, this would have been a huge hazard.
The bunk beds were a little sketchy. Low ceiling and very rickety. We were only able to use the bottom bunks.
The listing is for 14 people but it does not sleep 14 adults comfortablely.
We also found dirty dishes in the oven.
Steve was quick to respond and gave us addionational trash barrels when requested.
We tried to use the dock that was shown on the map that we were allowed to be on but were yelled at by the neighbors.
Steve was helpful when it came to helping us find additional parking. The hot tub, fire pit and karaoke machine made for a fun weekend with friends.
If you have a large family or group traveling and just need a casual place to stay, this house is perfect. The host was great to have delivered to our doorstep a casserole dish!
Bluetooth speaker, microphones, the keyboard and guitar made for a fun karaoke night.
Cons:
-decks werenât shoveled
-hot tub appeared old and dirty or rusted in spots so we didnât use
Had a great winter weekend with our group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers. The house is cozy - you could put two more adults in the bunk room but more would likely feel crowded. Super close to Gunstock and some great winter hiking, and we walked over to the Alton Bay winter festival. Hot tub was perfect. Only downside is there's no dining table for the group, but there are plenty of chairs and places to be so as long as you're not doing a formal sit -down dinner it's great. Would love to come back, winter or summer!
This property was perfect for my family of 5, the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including games for the kids. Steven was easy to get ahold of when needed. Thank you!
