This place is amazing! Very clean, has everything you can imagine. So much room we never use half the place. If you like being outside there is an amazing fireplace or you can just sit on the back porch and enjoy the views. There is actually a table that can sit everyone. We have a group between 10 and 12 each year. Very easy to communicate with owners if you have any questions or concerns. Highly recommend!!

Perfect Property

Everything at this lovely home was perfect and beautifully presented. The coffee bar was outstanding but everything about the property was. We especially enjoyed the large fire pit and the large dining room table, our favorite gathering spots. 10/10

This was out fourth straight year vacationing at the FSL and, as always, it was a wonderful relaxing experience! Both grown-ups and children can always find something to do at the FSL. Whether it be playing games in the game room, playing arcade games, catching a movie in the theater room, relaxing on the deck or just chilling at the firepit together, the FSL has something to offer everyone. The hosts Dan and Heidi are wonderful to work with and make the whole process as easy as it can get! We highly recommend the FSL for your next family vacation or weekend getaway--you won't be disappointed!!

Amazing stay!

The hosts were amazing - they were communicative, flexible, and extremely welcoming. The check in instructions and items listed on the airbnb were very accurate. We especially loved the coffee bar, jukebox, and campfire. It was a quiet and friendly neighborhood with hiking opportunities nearby. Would definitely recommend!!

Relaxing Long Weekend

Squirrel Lodge was a fantastic place to stay for us. It was very clean and had all of the kitchen items we needed to prepare meals and enjoy them with family and friends. Dan and Heidi were extremely helpful and responsible throughout the trip. The cabin was in a quiet and peaceful location but close enough to grocery stores and restaurants if one needed supplies or wanted to go out to eat. Overall, I highly recommend the cabin for groups of friends and/or family. It is well appointed and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay as we did. Thanks for your hospitality, Dan and Heidi!

Women's Weekend 2024

This is our 4th year in a row coming here. The place is amazing, very clean and has enough space to stretch out. All 13 of us can eat at the table at once which is nice! Already scheduling again for next year! You will never go anywhere else after staying here.

Consistently excellent!

This was the third straight year our family vacationed at the Flying Squirrel Lodge and it continues to be our vacation home away from home! The FSL continues to provide just a wonderful setting for a private, peaceful and welcoming vacation. All of the amenities the home offers (jukebox, arcade video games, coffee station, etc...) all just serve to further enhance your stay. The owners, Dan and Heidi, are wonderful to work with, make the whole process very simple and could not be more accommodating. We would highly recommend the FSL for your next family vacation or get away weekend and believe that you will not be disappointed with this choice.

Gorgeous home

Our wedding party friends and family stayed here and the property was just stunning! Clean, beautiful, spacious! We wish we could’ve stayed longer. The owners were quick to respond and had very easy to follow directions both for check in and check out. They were even generous enough to let us check in early because it was not occupied the night before! Can’t wait to refer this home to friends and family in the future!

Girls Weekend 2023

Wonderful as usual, this was our third year staying here. Already making reservations for next year. The location is beautiful and quite. Always something to do in Raystown while others sit outside and play cornhole or lay in the hammock and read or play Pac-Man inside. They even have a play station with games if you prefer. Easy check-in and out. Very clean and they always go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and ensure your stay is perfect. Room for everyone so you can spread out!

Great PSU Weekend

We had a fantastic time at the property. It was extremely clean snd very well appointed. Dan and Heidi were extremely responsive to any of our questions. All appliances and furniture wete in excellent condition. We're looking forward to another visit in the future! We highly tecommend the property!

Great location and house

We came up for Labor Day weekend for the Penn State vs WVU game. Hosts were great with communication. House was clean. We enjoyed the outdoor cornhole boards and firepit. A great spot if you are bringing a large group. Easy access to amenities in town. A very private setting. Great bar area in the downstairs and the kids loved the juke box, which provided music outside as well. Only minor downside was a lack of pantry space, so we had to stack food in odd areas of the home, but we made it work. Overall 5 stars - thanks for having us.

Family fun

Our family had a wonderful time at Squirrel Lodge. The home was beautiful & had everything we needed. Lots of memories were made at the lake, fishing & Del Grosso amusement & water park. Excellent stay!

This was my 3rd time staying at a vrbo property and it was by far the best one yet!! From the towel warmer in the guest bedroom, to the jukebox in the finished basement to the espresso/cappuccino/latte machine at the coffee bar to the well stocked firewood at the firepit where we had a fire every night. It was spectacular and you will not be disappointed.

Perfecto!

Beautiful home, many amenities to satisfy varying ages as well as kitchen, fire pit, and bathroom accessories that we didn't have to worry about packing. We especially enjoyed the large dining table, deck, and fire pit. And the showers are gorgeous! Just know that if you have young children, you will want to childproof the living room. We set the beautiful cameras up and placed them back again when ready to leave - also the gorgeous wood furniture we had to be extra careful with the kiddos around - but it was doable. We liked it so much we plan to return. Lincoln Caverns and Delgrosso's Amusement Park were great places to explore, about 15-30 minutes away. Thank you, Dan and Heidi

Wonderful rental property!

This was our second consecutive year for renting the Flying Squirrel Lodge for our family vacation and it again provided a wonderful vacation for our family. The owners of the lodge are very easy to work with and are likewise very accommodating if you have any questions. The property itself is exquisite (both inside and out!) and provides some unique amenities covering everyone's taste. We also personally appreciate the privacy/serenity of the location. I believe one of our grandchildren summed it up best when they found out that we were returning to the FSL for vacation again this year..."it feels like we are going back home"! We would highly recommend the FSL for any family vacation.

High End and CLEANNNNN!!!

We stayed at The Flying Squirrel Lodge for a Middle School Basketball Championship at State College. There were a group of us; including the children, teens and adults. Everyone LOVED the lodge for many different reasons: Adults: -CLEAN x100, there was no window sill dust, no yucky feeling when you pulled out the trash, no gross feeling around the beds
this place was immaculate! -The bedding was Brooklinen (which is high end/top of the line/$$$ bedding -The Coffee Bar was STOCKED, multiple brewers, all the accessories one may need etc. -The pellet stove was such a beautiful lodge touch that made everyone feel at home -Ice makers in the kitchen and the bar -Paper plates and cups and napkins and garbage bags and laundry soaps and bath towels and dishwasher pods and paper towels
all included -A complimentary tote bag, 2 bags of coffee, a mug and a bottle of wine!!! All W/ the Flying Squirrel Logo, so cute. Thank you! -Did I mention the place was super clean?!? Teens: -The loft- like their very own private quarters with a TV -Cornhole boards -Lots of space to lounge and find privacy Kids: -Loved the bunk room! -Loved the game room!! -Loved reading the guest book!!! It was just an absolutely great place! 40 min drive to campus—-5 minutes to a mini mart/gas station, 5 minutes to a Dollar General, local pizza place (Paisanos) delivered to us
 Owners replied quickly and kindly when we asked any questions
