The room was great, quiet and spacious. The hotel location is unbeatable, right next to the train station and so close to restaurants and shops in the centre of Amsterdam. The bar area is very nice and the breakfast was good. My only complaint is that the showers are a little slippery. I didn’t have an issue but my Dad (80) did, he needed something to be able to grab in there for his safety.

The breakfast was ok, but we were challenged upon arrival at breakfast time - that we'd only paid for one person, when I had my hotels-dot-com invoice showing otherwise/ Went to the counter later to get this put right but was met with a man with some attitude. He said it was a hotels-dot-com thing not being booked correctly, and he could not fix it. He suggested I show my invoice if challenged at breakfast. The next day we were challenged again. This time I wrote to Ibis to complain. It was ultimately resolved, but they don't truly seem sorry. They didn't grasp that it should have simply been fixed immediately. I was assured I didn't do anything wrong - which, um, I already knew. I should not have had to push for this. It put a sour note on our visit.

Room needed a little maintenance done. The AC hardly blows any cool air. They did give us a fan to put in the window. Room has no phone to downstairs and no fridge which was my fault. Also you have to take different elevators if you're on the 9th floor.

Had a great stay. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Only slight criticism is the pillows were too soft and could do with being firmer, and couldn’t work out the aircon in the room. Didn’t matter which way we turned the dial it didn’t seem to cool the room, but still a great stay and will return.

Looked good. Great location. Floor got wet from the shower and mopped with a towel and it showed wooden floor was dirty. Also toilet really small and awkward. Bed very comfy. Good air con. Great customer service and facilities.

Perfect location, as soon as you walk out the train station it’s right there. A great base if you’re new and wanting to explore the city. Good amenities on site, a small snack shop and a restaurant in case you’re peckish. Next door you’ve got lockers, so if you arrive early and it’s too early to check in or vice versa you’re checking out but not leaving for a while you can leave your luggage somewhere safe. Only things I’d suggest would be a deep clean of the hotel, replace mattresses that are past their best and fix the air con. But other than that it was a very pleasant stay!
