Location was excellent but the property is older and a little run down. The staff did not know how to allow room charges resulting in me having to return to the front desk three times. No drinking water in the room (and no mini bar). Room was dusty at check in (and the rest of the stay).

Whilst the location of this property is excellent you cannot access it with any vehicle outside of an official taxi. Which means if someone picks you up from the airport you have to drag your suitcases a long distance to the property.

To be honest it was like staying at a Holiday Inn. Room had very poor lighting, not enough counter space to put belongings . No pen or paper in room. Shower floor extremely slippery. Room was average at best but I paid a high price . Room extremely plain, basic.

Extremely disappointed in this hotel. Paid a huge premium to stay in a canal view room and was first checked into what I believe to be the worst room in the hotel. The room was above a storage entrance which would have been extremely noisy with just a porthole for a window. It was also accessed by a narrow steep winding staircase which was dangerous to access with 2 large cases. Upon check in we were immediately asked to give up daily housekeeping in return for a food voucher. We agreed only to find out that it was 10euros between 2 and not allowed to be used at breakfast. Had to go back to reception and complain and was given a better room on the 6th floor with at least a proper view of the canal. The man who checked us in did apologise and explain he had only been doing the job 2 months and gave us a voucher for 1 free drink each. The very least he could do considering what I paid for the room. The room on the 6th floor had to be accessed by 2 separate lifts and despite the first lift being accessed with room key there were still dodgy people in the corridors which made me feel unsafe. The bar was a lovely atmosphere but waiters and waitresses preferred to make friends and chat for long periods of time with American guests which made ordering and paying the bill very difficult. At one point a female waitress literally stood with her back to the entire bar and stood in front of a table of 4 Americans doing and saying nothing as if she was their personal waitress.
