Perfect house for family vacation

Great Location & view. Easy parking for our 3 cars. Plenty of room. Well appointed kitchen. Walk to uncrowded beach, but watch out for locals driving on beach. Comfortable beds. Lots of beach stuff, chairs, umbrellas, toys, towels. Neighbor is friendly, has 5 dogs, mostly quiet, but occasional short barking frenzy.

Beautiful property

The location of the property was great, however there were chickens everywhere and their poop was as well. The house itself was very nice size and for the most part clean but outdated appliances and shower door was jammed and wouldn't close.

Family trip to Kauai

The house was in a lovely location and a stone’s throw away to the beach. Plenty of room for our entire family of 12. The house was nicely furnished and had all of the bathroom and kitchen supplies we needed. The only issue that was just a bit annoying was a house next door that had 9-11 dogs and occasionally they’d all start barking at once at different times of the day. The owners were quick to quiet them down, so we appreciated that.

Fantastic Kauai Home

This is a really stunning house, right on Anahola Beach. Kitchen is well stocked, there are plenty of linens and a large room with a deep couch, two pull out extra wide chairs and a movie screen. It's easy to access both the South and North shores as Anahola is half way between the two. The house was very clean and we were greeted with a basket of fruits and snacks and gorgeous flowers. There's a really nice hot tub on the deck, overlooking the ocean. The on island host was communicative and easy to work with. We had seven people in our party and never felt crowded.

Prefect Location!

Our stay here was exactly what we were looking for. With 2 infants under 2 years old, having the beach right there and a hot tub was the perfect set-up. The house was ready for our arrival, clean, and easily accessible. The downstairs rooms really drown out the roosters in the morning and the neighbor's dogs allowing the babies to get a good night sleep. The upper room was a little nosier but with the box fan blowing it really helped with the noise. The roosters start making noise about 5:30AM, but that's just a common thing in Kauai so there were no surprises there. We will defiantly stay here again. We cooked most of our meals at the house only going out for dinner a few times. The host was very helpful setting us up for a Luau and helping us contact a rental company for cribs. Highly recommend this house!

Reviewer Comments: The property is located right on the Ocean, close to all our events, the kitchen is well stock and good size for a large group, exterior deck has plenty of room. Unfortunately the property was very dirty, much of the bedding and vacuum were full of puke, several outlet did not work, washer and dryer were full of sand, exterior cushions, inside couches were severely stained, beach chair and toys were broke, this home is falling apart, requires maintenance. Master bed has queen frame with king mattress, very dangerous, no smoke alarms, exterior shower are broken.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is beautiful. But the dogs next door are horrible. There are at least a dozen dogs next door that bark at all hours of the day or night. And when one goes off then they all would. During our stay the owner got there water bill and had the agent come and investigate the possible leak and shut the water off for a short period of time. A text or notice would have been nice before arrival. At least Myra was able to troubleshoot the master suites bed issue. It seems they have put a king mattress on a queen frame. So if it’s not positioned properly one is rolling out of bed! She was always able to get the hot guy out to clean the hot tub that was not clean upon our arrival. Then the ac went out in one of the downstairs bed rooms. Besides that the house is what the other reviews have stated.

Plenty of room to accommodate our 3 families of 10 people. Kids loved the theater room, beautiful views from the back, plenty of beach accessories, distance to beach is perfect, hot tub is a nice added touch. Location is a nice distance between north and south destinations. We drove to Kapa'a for most of our dinner meals, which is 10 minutes away. We stocked up on breakfast and lunch items at Safeway before coming to house. Things to consider; you are mixed in with the locals so it's not a "resort" area. Yes, there is a sketchy area of people living outside in their cars, yes the chickens crowing and dogs barking are loud, yes locals drive on the beach. Our only complaint is the house does not have AC in the kitchen and dining area and it's super hot in July. We did request extra box fans and they were delivered to house quickly. They helped to blow around the hot air but it was still much cooler outside on the lanai and in the basement. If you are looking for a local experience away from the hustle and bustle, this is your place!

False Advertisement and Lack of Disclosure

As a licensed property manager, I was shocked by the misrepresented and unsafe conditions of this property. It is located just 50 yards from a homeless encampment and 30 yards from a junkyard — none of which were disclosed. The exterior was overrun with feral cats, and pet dander made its way into the home, severely affecting my 4-year-old who has a documented allergy. We were greeted by a 5-inch cane spider on night one, and there was an active hornets’ nest outside. The home showed clear signs of neglect — it hadn’t been deep cleaned or pest-treated in what appears a long time. The landscaping was overgrown and untended. The listing photos were outdated and did not reflect the property's current condition. Neighboring dogs barked day and night, and vehicles raced up and down the beach, creating a hazard. Most concerning, the home is in Hawaiian Homelands (DHHL), reserved for Native Hawaiians, where infrastructure is limited — something that was not disclosed. We did not feel safe and left early. This listing should not be allowed to remain active without full transparency and remediation.

Beautiful View with Issues

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The beach is out the backyard - fabulous. The waves, sand and provided beach gear (umbrella, chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, wagon) were great! The view, proximity to the beach and sound of the waves were all perfect. Unfortunately, around 6:00-7:00am the next door neighbor's nine dogs woke up and the howling and barking began. It would quieten down after few minutes, but intermittently happen again throughout the day. That, combined with the roosters (an island staple), which began crowing around 5:00 a.m. meant that no one slept in. And then toward the middle/end of our weeklong stay, we saw a mouse in the laundry room and another in the kitchen. The management company was very prompt in bringing over mousetraps, one of which was successful. Thankfully my husband was there to deal with the dead mouse, so that chore did not fall to me. The master bedroom is open to the living/kitchen area, so unless everyone was asleep or out of the house, there was noise. Also, be aware, there are steps down into the master and then up to the master shower and toilet room. And one last thing - the bedrooms have individual A/C units and can be kept comfortable, however there is no A/C in the kitchen/living room. Early morning cool breeze feels good, but it just gets warmer as the day goes on.

Beautiful Beach House with a Stunning View

Check in was a breeze and the home was everything that was pictured in the listing. It was very comfortable and rooms were all well appointed. We had fresh flowers awaiting us along with a very beautiful display of snacks, drinks and local produce. I did have to reach out to property management a few times with questions and Lyra was very quick to respond and so kind. The location is down in a residential area and sits right on Anahola Beach with the most gorgeous view and perfect beach access which was priceless not having to pack up and plan trips to the beach, it was always steps away. The area is mostly locals scattered with some other short term rentals beach front. If you are intolerant of dogs this may not be the spot for you. The neighbor next door was so very kind upon our arrival and greeted us and let us know he had 11 dogs and that if they ever became bothersome he would put them inside as they are in a fenced area. There was some barking off an on during the day but for the most part they were quiet all through the night until about 6am when they were let out for the morning. The theatre room was wonderful to sit and chill with the family and watch movies. Was great having so much room to spread out as the home was quite large with a open concept living area. The bathrooms had all the necessities to get us through our week. It was hard to leave this home in paradise and we can't wait to plan our trip back!!

The movie theater room was a big hit. The beach chairs and towels were nice to take down to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better location being steps to the beach. Just a short walk down the beach is an inlet to the river and it’s great for the littles to play without the waves. The kitchen was stocked pretty well. We did have to buy a pan since there wasn’t a decent pan to make pancakes. The grill and the hot tub on the patio are great! The neighbor has quite a few dogs which is no fault of the rental house but it does get a bit annoying when they all bark at the same time. The only thing I would change if I could would be a more comfortable sectional sofa upstairs that more people could sit on. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and loved the beautiful ocean view!

The house is a little loud with toddlers, due to the wood floors upstairs and not well soundproofing for the bedrooms underneath. The main suite upstairs is not well soundproofed either with the shutter style doors and the opening in the wall above. The main bedroom downstairs - the shower door can't shut, leaving a gap of 6 inches. That said, the view is stunning and the beach location is wonderful. Our host was quick to respond the couple times we reached out.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a relatively large group 10 people over the age of 12 and 1 infant. The house presented as advertised. The kitchen had enough cooking utensils and dishes. We used the beach gear for snorkeling and the beach chairs, towels, and coolers. It was great to have a hot tub as the days were not hot. The location/neighborhood had a chill vibe and was near a good smoothie/acai bowl hut that was a real treat. It was not a far drive to the north shore for some good sight seeing, snorkeling, and views. It was also not far from a place to go tubing down an old sugar cane canal. Overall, the house was great. The neighbor has a lot of dogs but they really don’t bark much-the wild chickens crow more than the dogs bark. The view from the living room/kitchen is beautiful to wake up to and we saw whales spraying and breaching in the ocean. One thing to note, is that the home doesn’t have a Keurig so don’t buy K-cups. Kauai has some great ground coffee for sale in the stores.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 10 family members staying and there was plenty of room. Being right on the beach was absolutely perfect and plenty of beach amenities to use. The kitchen has upgraded appliances and everything necessary to cook each meal. The bedrooms (and entire house) were clean and comfortable. Washer and dryer are new and make it easy to keep towels and clothes fresh.Working with the property manager was easy, with quick responses to our questions and needs.Location was great, being only 25-30 min away from Princeville/Hanalei Bay, 20 min to the airport, close to restaurants and grocery stores.We highly recommend this home and working with this management team. We plan on returning soon.Thank you for making our family vacation very enjoyable!Jamie
