We had a two night stay and absolutely loved it. We had a double garden view room with fabulous views. patio table & chairs. The room was large, super clean & a completely recently refurbished bathroom. The bed was of excellent quality. Great treats. Couldn’t fault it. Breakfast was a really lovely experience & excellent hosting. Great food, great service & yet not overly formal. Eat both nights at the bistro, again very reasonable & excellent food & service. We will most certainly be returning.

Relaxing

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: To be honest we had had a busy two days at a wedding so we never left the hotel.
We stopped at Appleby Manor on the way back from a wedding in Loch Lomond. The hotel was really lovely. We unpacked and then had some refreshment in the conservatory before showering for the evening meal. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, the meal was out of this world. The room was comfy and well equipped and we slept well. Would definitely recommend.

Nice hotel and friendly staff

Pros: View from the garden
Cons: More choice on restaurant menu.
Hotel is in a lovely position overlooking a valley.Very friendly staff. Standard rooms are as you might expect rather small and basic with no views from the window.The main restaurant was very nice if somewhat overpriced.Menu good for fish eaters but very limited for meat eaters.

Nice relaxing hotel with spa facilities.

Pros: Its age/character although were i to book again i would steer clear of the upper rooms which were 3 flights of steps up...
Cons: Didnt stay long enough to comment on this.
Location: Plenty to do and good pubs nearby.
A lovely stay,Didnt eat here as The Masons arms is fairly local and is superb.All ran smoothly and a nice breakfast.Only complaint was at breakfast in morning we went into dining room and wanted 2 seat table,Only one left was not made up and still had used/dirty dishes on,The lady did clear it quickly and efficiently for use but when she wiped the table the cloth stank and the rancid smell lingered and i could smell it on my shirt sleeves after the meal.Apart from that it was a relaxing and peaceful stay and i would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Overnight stay

We were very oleased with this hotel even though we were only using it for an overnight stay. The building is impressive and set in extensive very well kept grounds. Our room was large , comfortable and well presented with doors that opened onto a patio with table and chairs and a wonderful view. The whole experience was rounded off with a very good breakfast and attentive and friendly staff. Thank you Appleby Manor fo a most enjoyable stay, we will be returning and have already recommended you to our friends and family.
