It was a very calm, peaceful stay. The wonderful, bubbling water features could be seen and heard from our room. The breakfasts were very delicious. Eating breakfast on the front porch while watching and listening to a half dozen different bird species sing to us was quite enjoyable. The room was exquisite. Beautiful sleigh bed, very comfortable chairs and couch. The internet connectivity was strong and consistent. There are three great restaurants within walking distance and the downtown area, the arts district, and Trader Joes, Whole Market, and Harris Teeter were all within a 10-15 minute drive. This was our second stay at the wonderful Black Walnut.
Adorable house in historic Montford area. We stayed in the Magnolia room. It was very spacious with a comfortable bed and accessible bathroom. Our hostess, Alicia, provided fresh baked snacks and beverages all day long. The breakfast was absolutely delightful - especially the baked apples! There was even a singer on Friday night along with the happy hour. There is a gorgeous pond in back of the main house - just watch your head, as the property features a massic walnut tree and those suckers are heavy!
Mattress too soft for us.
No standup shower in the room we were given.
Food was good, not excellent for the price of stay.
Owner and staff never smiled.
The location was fantastic. It was walking distance from several very good restaurants and a short drive from even more. There was a nearby walking path that went to UNC-A and to the Botanical Center. A nice easy and wonderful walk. The breakfasts were great and the selection of coffees and teas were perfect. The room and house was well appointed and the furnishings were like art.
We had a great time at this B&B. This was our first time in Asheville. Very clean, super cute with lots of extra perks. Close to downtown- very walkable.
Breakfast was so good and loved the happy hour as well:)
My wife wanted to see the Biltmore at Christmas so we booked this place. Wonderful B&B. The owners were great and the breakfasts were awesome. A short walk to a great restaurant was fantastic
