The location was very convenient for the local area and day trips to other nearby towns and attractions. We barely only met a staff member once at check in, but never had a need to see them again anyway since there was a self checkout option. Our room was clean and pretty well maintained, and the beds were comfortable. There was a lot of noise from the family upstairs, so the downside is that walls are fairly thinâbut you never know who your neighbors will be. And of course the road noise from the highway outside is to be expected as the property is located just a few yards off the highway. All in all, we got a great price for our room and weâd stay there again if we were in the area.
Great value for the money. Clean, walkable to downtown/breweries/Riverfront trolley, and clearly recently remodeled kitchen. Dividing door in kitchenette suite is great if you are sharing a room or want a separate area for kids. We would definitely stay here again next time weâre in Astoria.
The pros are that it's well located in Astoria, easy to find and close to most everything. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. The place had updated interiors although it generally feels older. It was clean except for a weird green stain on the bathtub that I didn't investigate.
The cons are that the location is right on the main drag and it was noisy all night. A surprising number of people were driving at 4am. The walls are thin so we heard the people talking in the next room over until 1am. Most annoying was the plumbing which emitted a high pitched squeal whenever you used any plumbing (toilet, sink, etc.) or your neighbors did. It went on for quite a while after the water use ended. We didn't use the shower so no remarks on that.
A special note on the unfriendly check in lady. There's a sign that only 2 people at a time who are together can be in the little check in area (meaning everyone else is outside in the weather). My husband joined me a few minutes after me and she went right into kicking him out without asking if he was with me. We had to interrupt her spiel to explain that he was indeed with me so it was ok for him to be there. Would have been nice if she asked first before giving him the "you gotta get out of here" speech. It was OK for one night but would only stay again if there are no other options.
After I got in the room and unpacked. I found the drain of bathtub is clogged. I called the front-desk person in but she can't fix it. so I have to stand in dirty water to get my shower.
I asked for compensation but the front-desk person replied that her manager refused
first of all; Hotels.com failed to send my reservation to the hotel so I had to pay for the room at full price. Tried to contact Hotels.com for a refund and there is no phone number nor can I find a way to do that.
Great recently remodel hotel. Clean. Room in back of hotel so very to little road noise. Spacious and everything i needed for my atay. Customer service was good and check in was a breeze.
The rooms are cleaned and spacious, yet the owner operator lady is one mean old maid.
A homeless kid was walking down the sidewalk the morning of my departure, and asked me if I had a cigarette. I told him to come Uber and wait outside and retrieved two entamans doughnuts, a banana and an iced tea, along with the cigarette he requested. He thanked me and went on his way.
A few minutes later, Ms. Old Maid called me and told me i had to leave the hotel, and could not stay another day because I helped the homeless kid out. How sad I feel for this woman whom Lost all compassion with COVIDâs passing.
Everyone needs help. One day youâre gonna need it and truly appreciate someone took the time to help you.
Shame on you Ms. Hotel lady, shame on you!
Otherwise, the hotel was great and Astoria was awesome as always. W
Never even got to stay and they don tell you about the extra $100 deposit that's also included in the price so I spent $75 for no reason, didn't get to even stay and it's been a month and I still haven't got my money back
