The home was very welcoming. Clean, spacious area with a great view of the River. Outside deck was on the east and south that we used until the cool winds kicked up. Wished we had tried the lower level outdoor sitting area but didn’t realize it was there til later.Kitchen had a variety of dishes and utensils for us to cook and serve. Coffee and spices were nice! Beds were cozy. Pillows were ok. But I have a hard time finding one I like, so I had no complaints and could make them work.Bathroom was well stocked and nice soft towels.We had brought our own drinks, but there was a nice wine opener. Few wine glasses and ICE. I love it when there is ice so we don’t have to bring it in.We really enjoyed staying here. Relaxing but also had tv, few games when together but enough area to have our own space when wanted. I do recommend to make sure the vehicle you drive in isn’t real low. The drive way is very hilly with some bumpy areas. My low riding car made it but I was very carefully. I’d come back!

Such a beautiful home, with outstanding views. Sandy was so kind, accommodating and thoughtful. The house is so well equipped and comfortable. The gravel driveway is a bit steep so I suggest following the directions that are sent from the host for best accessibility.

We came to visit two kids at Benedictine for family weekend. We have stayed at many other rental homes in Atchison, and this was the best one we have stayed at! The views from the deck of the river are amazing! The sunrise was stunning! We cooked all meals at the house and the kitchen is great and well equipped. Walking distance to campus. Very clean and all beds are very comfortable. We were able sit outside on the deck both nights and listen to the live music at Trotters which was as added bonus.

The house and property were very clean and well kept. The house was well stocked, sheets, towels and tp. I can only think of 2 things that would have been nice, pantry space to put food we brought and darker curtains for the days you want to sleep in. But no complaints it was a wonderful stay! Sally was helpful and quick to communicate. 10/10.

Best VRBO We've Ever Rented

We had a girl's weekend with 3 best friends, all from different states. We meet up at least twice a year. This house was wonderful. It's newly renovated and the owners didn't skimp on anything. It was spotlessly clean. Sitting out enjoying the large deck was very relaxing. We would definitely come back.

Our group—Mothers, Daughters, and Karen (she can't help it, that’s just her name!)—had the most wonderful stay at this VRBO home. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautifully decorated and impeccably clean space, which struck the perfect balance between open gathering areas and private retreats. The highlight? Hours spent on the deck, watching the river glide by—pure serenity.Atchison itself was an unexpected gem. We toured the Evah Cray Home, Amelia Earhart’s Birthplace Museum, the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, and the stunning Benedictine Abbey. Each one was an experience worth recommending 100%. But the true centerpiece of our trip? A day in Weston, MO—just a quick 20-minute drive over the Missouri border. If you haven’t been, put it on your list!At one point, someone asked me if I’d ever been to Atchison before. My response? "Not intentionally." But after this incredible trip, I would absolutely make plans to return—with intention—again and again!Thank you for the memories!

Memorial Weekend

Great location that was easy to find. We were headed into KC to watch a Monarchs game and found this place with an easy 45 minute drive into The Legends. Very beautiful house overlooking the Missouri River and got to see parts of Kansas I had not seen before. Would definitely stay again.

Benedictine Graduation Perfection

We brought 2 of our grown boys and Grandma to our daughter’s graduation this May. What a stunner of a view!!! Perfectly clean and updated interiors with thoughtful design. Easy to get in and out. Read the instructions on using the entrance driveway to get to the front door via the less steep side. Woke up to the sunrise over the river. Grilled out and listened to the live music from Trotters ( small bar at the river below us) … we had a blast! Thank you for sharing this gem with us!
