Our stay this year at the Omni very good, several surprises diminished the experience somewhat. The good news: the restaurant, mediocre the last time we were at Omni a year ago, had delicious food, extremely fresh fruit, attentive and very prompt service, and room service* arrived on time for an early morning breakfast with yummy food. Our room was fine, clean, well appointed; the bathroom lovely. Here, however, is where we ran into the challenge. The toilet tank had a problem, fixed fairly quickly, but I was surprised a hotel at this level would have to have a guest bring it to their attention. The lighting — nearly every light in the room has an exposed bulb styling, making it very hard on older eyes. Housekeeping did a wonderful job when they came, but they missed one day entirely, even though it was stated that they would be coming unless we said no housekeeping desired. Two days we had to request a refill of our coffee service. Requested robes in advance, and it was nice to have have them there, but the housekeeping team removed them the last night of our stay, for some reason. The bed was very comfortable, and Omni management was quite accommodating when we requested a few extras that we needed. * We were initially told we couldn’t order RS breakfast in advance; they did make an exception. All in all a very nice stay. Had the room price been even 25 percent less, I probably would’ve given five stars. But at our price point, there should not have been little issues.
