We enjoyed our time in the Outer Banks and the home’s location, but this property did not live up to its listing, and our experience with Brindley Beach was disappointing.I reported issues on the first day. Maintenance responded quickly to a drainage problem and a burned-out light bulb, but many larger concerns remained unresolved.Safety was the biggest issue. The dining room light switch is blocked by the freezer door, so the light can only be turned off by standing on a wobbly dining chair. Maintenance attempted to repair the chairs, but they remained unstable. The living room ceiling fan hummed loudly and would not start without manually spinning the blades while standing on the couch. It still only ran briefly before slowing down. The sunroom A/C leaked constantly, leaving the rug wet and the room smelling damp. The listing advertised an unlimited Avon Pier Pass, but the pier staff said that agreement ended about five years ago. Our group paid out of pocket, and after several confusing phone calls, Brindley Beach agreed to reimburse us. This amenity should not still be advertised. The home is described as “newly remodeled,” but several dresser pulls were loose or missing, the grill was in poor condition, and the couch was worn out. Outdoor lighting was also inadequate, requiring phone flashlights after dark.Beach access is nearby but requires climbing steep sand dunes, which may be difficult for some guests. The large Lazy Susan on the dining table was a thought
