This could definitely be a 5 star rating if the property managers did their job and Vacasa followed through with communication. It was very clear from our arrival, that communication, cleanliness and being thorough was not a top priority in the off season.
I arrived with my family, for the Easter spring break. We were looking forward to using the hot tub, but the hot tub didnât function properly with the temperature not heating up (after a few days it did increase the temperature) and water leaking under the deck. Immediately, we called Vacasa to tell them about the grill and hot tub.. They said that someone would call me back, & weâd have someone come to the property but that never happened. The outdoor grill was rusted, cracked through the stand and unusable. The outdoor water supply was turned off so you couldnât use the shower or hose for rinsing off sandy feet. The swing on the deck was broken and the arm was laying on the floor. The cord keeping the screen on the door kept coming out and needed to be pushed back in consistently. One of the dining chairs had an arm that was not screwed in correctly so it kept falling off.
We asked for early access and was told no due to covid cleaning procedures. There was no cleaning procedures evident. The floor was dirty (I brought my own floor wipes) and hadnât been cleaned. Two of the beds didnât have sheets on them and we needed to make the beds. One roll of toilet paper and only 2 trash bags (we went out and bought more).
Windows and furniture were dusty, again I was thankful I brought my own cleaning products. All of these things are minor but I felt quite upset as instead of relaxing on our vacation, I was a cleaner and handy man.
This rating should have been higher and if we had been told upfront sorry the grill doesnât work or the hot tub is not working as expected, we would have been prepared. It was disappointing that no one called to check on us or follow up. There were other issues but had the property managers viewed the property they would have seen this before we arrived and could have managed expectations or actually been proactive and fixed these things to be ready for guests.
