The building is beautiful. The room, not so much. Carpet dirty, the walls have mold, the tub water is slow, and the access door under the sink fell. Also, WiFi is not very good (at all).
My dad is from Ballyvaughan so have been coming here since a child but always stayed at his family home. The hotel is lovely and the pub great and really enjoyed the trad music on Sunday afternoon. Great food and nice friendly staff. I will definitely stay again and hopefully you will have Greene's open by then as that is a fabulous proper Irish pub too
A very nice hotel located in a lovely little town. We were very happy with the breakfast, and our pub supper. Rooms and bathrooms were very large and super clean. Lovely!
Sadly this hotel doesnât meet its 3 star rating . Overpriced and badly in need of a revamp and more staff. The room hasnât been cleaned and the bedding was old and very poor quality.
Bathroom was shoddy and mould around the bath.
Breakfast was awful too .. poor quality ingredients and cold food.
I have every sympathy for the staff. At most there were 3 staff on duty covering the restaurant, bar and reception and they were clearly run ragged.
Ballyvaughan is a beautiful village that sadly lacks a decent hotel.
The water tasted moldy from the tap (bathroom, restaurant, anything that might use tap water). The hot breakfast wasnât very hot. The poached eggs were great but thatâs it. Ok was good too
Itâs ridiculous that the hotel has a restaurant that is open until 9pm but we canât get a meal as the kitchen closes at 8:30pm. Luckily, Mr Kebab is across the street and had way better prices and options. Their pizza was fantastic! This hotel overall is very overpriced.
