Even though the weather wasnât great, the cabin was clean and cozy. Screened in porch was so nice to just sit, read and enjoy the rain. We were hoping to get to use the fire pit outside but winds prevented that. Will keep this on our list of places to stay in the future.
Thus was the perfect semi secluded cabin fir a 39th anniversary get away. Both my wife and I found the cabin charming and exactly as described in the listing. We have no complaints. The host was accomodating and the flow of communication was excellent.
Cozy cabin with a touch of rustic and vintage atmosphere. We loved stay here and enjoyed the comfort the house was offering to our family of 5 with our small dog. Good position to visit the area around. Shelley was always available and very responsive to ours needs.Recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay in this historic cabin and checking out the activities, sites, and scenery in the area. The cabin was a cozy place to return to at the end of each day.
This cabin is so unique and charming! We enjoyed listening to the rain on the tin roof swaying on the screened in porch swing. The fire from the gas logs and the comfortable couches provided a perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. The location to hiking trails, good restaurants and snow tubing couldnât be beat. We thoroughly enjoyed our mountain getaway!
Rustic and comfortable. Had everything we needed including the lob cabin charm. Closer to everything than we thought it would be. Only issue was the drive way was a rutted, but we had a truck so we didnât have any trouble.
My husband, my two old labs, and I stayed here for a weekend getaway! It was perfect!! We were close to all the ski hills. The house was so cozy and clean and came with updated amenities. The house's location is wonderful for convenience and inclement weather; snow hit fast Sunday night and with the house not being on a steep incline, etc. like most rentals in the mountains it was very easy to enter and leave!! Shelley was a wonderful host and so fast to respond!
We visited this cabin for our youngestâs 2nd birthday, and our first overnight trip as a family of four. It couldnât have been more perfect for us. Our toddlers love watching Little House on the Prairie, and they really thought we were staying at âLaura and Maryâsâ cabin. We were only about a 20 minute drive to the sledding hill at Beech mountain, and close to lots of dining options. We lived in a historic home, so the âcharacterâ in this cabin didnât bother us at all. If youâre averse to uneven floors and drafty windows, this isnât the place for you. We all loved it, and the baseboard heating and fireplace kept us warm. My oldest wants to come back for her birthday!
Nice cabin but located behind a rental storage facility right off a main road. From the pictures and land description, you get the impression it is located in a more remote setting. Host accurately referenced this is an old cabin and if there was cold weather it could get a little chilly inside. Thatâs exactly what we experienced but it was much colder downstairs than what we would consider chilly. We enjoyed our visit.
My husband and I so enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin, and the rich history of it was not lost on us! This is truly a one of a kind stay! I do think that solid curtains in the bedrooms would do better to block out the yard/street light and make for better rest. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!
Overall decent little cabin location mared by storage units in front of the property, never mentioned in the ad. Was a little bit noiseyfrom the business. Overall cleanliness was good, check in and out was quick and easy. A leaf blower would have made his a literal home run but wasnât horrible. The floors are part of the charm of an old cabin. These are CHARMing no doubt lol.
We enjoyed our time at the 1848 cabin. It was an experience in a primitive sort of way. There were enough modern additions to keep things simple.
Great for a few days, but I wouldnât want tylive there!
The cabin was clean, fully stocked, comfy beds. The yard needed some attention and porch areas. Cob webs, old wet rugs, debris from the trees, dirty windows and screens. Both bedrooms need black out curtains or shades to sleep better. Location was not on a flowing creek and the fish smell was noticeable.
I loved this place . It was exactly like it looked but much much better . Very clean and had everything you could need plus more . Conveniently located . I am coming back in the Spring.
