The property was very adequate for our large family group with lots of room for kids to play. Beds were comfortable and the big dining table was great for family meals. The house needs some maintenance upkeep. Sliding screen door was sitting on the outdoor table. The grill was unusable and the pull out couch was broken. The downstairs shower curtain needs to be replaced.
We did enjoy the cool weather of Beech Mountain and the fireworks were amazing.
Everyone had a wonderful time, it snowed the last night we were there which made it even nicer. Our grandchildren really enjoyed the game room. Spacious enough for everyone to hang out together, but also plenty of room to relax by yourself if you wanted to. We enjoyed watching the numerous deer that visited each day. Great location.
First of all let me say we enjoyed our stay. This was a great location ,near Grandfather Mountain and other attractions. The cabin had a well equipped kitchen, main living room with a fire place, nice beds and baths. We would book this property again. A few maintenance items the owner might want to address, the area rug in the living room is curled up along the edge which is a tripping hazard ,Ask me how ii know, there is a closet door broken up stairs ,the air hockey table has a broken power cord which is a fire hazard so we unplugged it.
The house and location were great! Communication was responded to in a timely manner. A couple of issues with dirty sheets on a pullout bed and dirty dishes put up in cabinets, but the house was in good order and clean overall. We would definitely stay at this property again!
The cabin is gorgeous. There was ample room for everyone in our 6 person group to spread out. We were greeted by a deer at the front of the cabin on arrival. I would recommend this cabin for anyone trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The kitchen is well stocked. The neighborhood is quiet and has a large and friendly deer population. The quaint ski town of Beech Mountain is near by for dining out and general store needs. The roads are steep and full of tight switchbacks that may be challenging in snowy or icy weather. My travel tip is to use the actual GPS coordinates to find the cabin. Depending on you navigation software you may end up at the wrong address on your first attempt if you simply enter the address for your destination. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely cabin and location. Kitchen tools could use a bit of updating. Hand mixer doesnât work and there is only one big knife. Kids loved the air hockey table.
The property was spacious and nicely decorated with plenty of room. However, the cleanliness was somewhat suspect. It seems the main living room/kitchen/dining room had not been swept. Debris under dining table and throughout. The carpets on bottom and top floors also were not adequately vacuumed. There was hair in bottom level bathroom. A candy wrapper was found in one of the upstairs bedsheets. The refrigerator was not cleaned-- especially the door shelves were dirty. The exterior grill was very dirty. We had to clean prior to cooking. We also cleaned it before we left. however, there was not a good scrub tool so we had to make do with what we had to do the cleaning. There were sheets wadded up on the bottom level sofa. We did not touch these since we did not know if they were clean or dirty. Upon arrival the sliding glass door to the exterior deck was left unlocked. Screens on the exterior sliding doors on main level had damage. The refrigerator did not seem to keep a cold temperature. I texted the host and got no response at all. The freezer section was working, so we kept moving freezer packs to the fridge side to help keep cold. We were told toilet paper was supplied. It was not in all bathrooms. I suggest that a grill spatula be provided as the tongs sometimes are not adequate. We were told a drip coffee maker would be present. We could not find it. While this seems like a long list, the main issue was lack of pristine cleanliness. For the price, we felt like it should have been much cleaner -- especially since we are not fully out of the pandemic. Also, I would suggest that you warn guests that there is a considerable distance to travel on gravel roads. The area is beautiful, and we had a good weekend.
Overall , it was a great week. Although when we arrived the refrigerator was not working!! We were eager to get our 400 dollars of groceries put in the refrigerator ! After a lot of communication with the owner/property manager and repair man. We ended up taking the repair manâs advice and we removed the back of the fridge and placed a box fan in the back. We then at property owners suggestion went to local store and purchased coolers and bags of ice, this did keep our groceries from spoiling. The refrigerator was repaired on late Thursday afternoon, we did check in on Monday. The dishwasher had to be run 3 times each load to get dishes clean. Check in instructions were not sent, I had to reach out to owner /property manager for instructions after arrival. We did appreciate the spacious home and it accommodated my family of 11 very well.
Cabin is beautiful and, as expected, housed our entire large family comfortably. Deer abound in the area, and the view from the cabin windows is stunning. Kitchen was well furnished with what we needed for our meal prep. Overall, wonderful stay!
