This was the perfect location and the host was responsive and helpful. My only complaint is that the bed is terribly uncomfortable and even after tightening the frame it squeaks with the littlest movement. My husband actually went to sleep on the hide-a-bed towards the end of the stay (we went out and purchased a mattress pad to make it more comfortable) because the bed hurt his back so much. But if the bed were to be upgraded I would come back. The convenience of the location and the allotted parking space make this an ideal place. Heads up there is no air conditioning, but I think thatâs common for the area and there were only 2 nights of our 2 week stay where it was a bit uncomfortable until it cooled down.
Location of the house is great! Everything in bar harbor is walkable and itâs a quick drive to Acadia. The house is well stocked. My only small criticism is that some of the appliances and the mattress seem pretty outdated, so I say 4.75/5. I loved all the bird themed decor :)Thanks for a great stay!
This isnât the fanciest place in Bar Harbor, but it has so many great things going for it. The host is very responsive, and the location is idealâclose enough to downtown to walk easily, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. The dedicated parking spot is a huge plus, making it easy to come and go without the hassle of finding street parking. I also loved that the bedroom is tucked away upstairs, offering a cozy, private retreat.
Ericâs place was the perfect location. Walking distance to the entire town of bar harbor. Everything was 5-10 min walk tops. Great home base for exploring bar harbor and Acadia. Parking spot makes it super easy to get in and out as well
We loved this rental! You are just steps from all the shops and restaurants, but since it's on a side street, it was very quiet. Erik answered any questions immediately and the pics on the site were spot on. Easy access to Acadia National Park. Would definitely rent here again.
First of all, Eric was a great host. The Loon Nest was an excellent stay for our first time in Bar Harbor. The property is just a short walk to all the attractions of the town of Bar Harbor and a short drive or bike to Acadia. After a day of hiking, shopping, and a big lobster feast this was excellent place to relax. Highly recommend.
A well-maintained roomy apartment on two floors with a separate entrance and balcony in an older building. Both the living room on the 2nd floor and bedroom on the 3rd floor are good-sized and the separate kitchen has all that one needs to cook. Ideal for an extended stay where one wants to spread out. Location is excellent a few blocks from Main St and the free Acadia shuttles. The host was very helpful. We would readily return for an extened stay.
Perfect for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia. The village green, restaurants, and shops are a short walk away, and the park entrance is less than 10 minutes away. The owner is very helpful and responsive and the apartment includes lots of maps and other information about the park.
We enjoyed being in the heart of Bar Harbor and the doorstep of Acadia. This place was perfect for our family. Everything was clean and exactly how weâd want it for our small family. Highly recommend!
We come to Bar Harbor every year. This was a wonderful place to stay--perfect location, close to shops and restaurants but at the same time very quiet (and with a shady balcony that was perfect for reading). And Eric was quick to respond to any questions. We had a great week.
Wonderful owner, great communication, location was perfect to downtown, and all was as described at booking. Feels like home! If we ever visit Bar Harbor again, we will stay here.
We had a great time in Bar Harbor. The condo was nice and clean when we arrived. The location was great and very walkable to shops and restaurants. We had no hair dryer there when we arrived but Eric had one delivered that afternoon. He responded quickly whenever we needed to ask any questions or had any concerns.
This property is in a great location. Easy to walk to bars, restaurants, sight seeing. It does have lots of stairs to walk up and down. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The instruction book needs to be clearer. Checkout time is not in book. It was confusing.
This location is actually a great spot. You can walk everywhere in town. Two floors give guests lots of space, along with the private balcony. Easy walks to coffee shops and restaurants. Lots of retail shops too. The host was helpful and provided fast responses when needed. If you're ok with stairs then this is the place for you.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Loon Nest. The location is ideal and Eric (our host) had it stocked with everything one could possibly need! We would not hesitate to recommend it or to stay there again.
One tiny thing: the pillows could be refreshed.
You can't beat the location and Eric communicates very well through the entire process. We were able to walk to restaurants and it's only 2 blocks to the Village Green where you can grab an Island Shuttle into Acadia. Free parking out front and easy walk into town.
The accommodations were as described but it is not fancy. Kitchen was adequate but we only cooked one dinner there and a few breakfasts. We left a few wine glasses as we couldn't find any. There is no a/c but a large fan that cools down the upper floor.
We would not hesitate to stay here again given the location and responsiveness of the owner.
