Bartlett Bank - Unique Stay - As Seen in Movies!

Bartlett TX est l'une des villes historiques les plus uniques du Texas. La Bartlett National Bank a été ouverte en 1904 et était une banque en activité jusqu'aux années 1930. Il a été sauvé de son état abandonné et a été restauré avec amour comme un endroit pour se tenir bras dessus bras dessous avec le passé et l'avenir. Vous pouvez vous promener dans les rues historiques en briques et les vitrines ou vous arrêter pour une tasse de café au café local "Neighbors".

La Bartlett National Bank dispose désormais de 2 chambres dans l'ancien bureau de banquier, d'une cuisine dans ce qui était l'ancienne gare de guichet avec les murs de guichet toujours en contact. Le bureau du directeur de banque est maintenant votre bureau et contient des lettres écrites à l'origine dans ce même bureau au début des années 1920. Les anciennes voûtes de la banque servent de garde-manger et de cave à vin. Les hauts plafonds sont ornés et mettent en valeur la vraie beauté de ce bâtiment historique. Vous pourrez regarder les détails en vous reposant sur le canapé-lit dans le hall de la banque transformé en salon.

La Bartlett National Bank est un séjour unique dans la ville la plus photographiée du Texas! Nous avons hâte de vous accueillir!

Vous aurez l'unité entière. Avant l'enregistrement, vous recevrez un code de porte sécurisé qui ne sera disponible que pour votre séjour. Aucun autre invité n'aura eu votre code. Il y a 2 portes d'entrée. La porte avec le code d'entrée est la porte qui fait face à Clark Street (et est éclairée par le réverbère). Immédiatement à l'intérieur à droite se trouve un interrupteur d'éclairage. Le mot de passe wifi vous sera envoyé avec votre code clé. Garez-vous dans les rues Clark ou Evie. Le petit-déjeuner est servi chaque matin de l'autre côté de la rue au German Diner. Elle sert des petits déjeuners américains classiques! Une réservation est nécessaire pour qu'elle sache combien de plats cuisiner - vous allez vous régaler! Nous inclurons les coordonnées de votre réservation de petit-déjeuner avant l'enregistrement.

Dans l'unité, nous avons créé un manuel d'invité et c'est dans la cuisine. Nous avons également préparé un livre pour vous parler de la banque et des histoires amusantes que nous avons apprises à ce sujet.

Nous aimons cette vieille banque! Nous avons passé de longues heures à le restaurer et nous espérons que vous l'aimerez autant que nous!

Great host and stay!

We stayed for my husband's birthday and he loved it! I was worried the bank might be haunted (lol), but it was surprisingly peaceful. I forgot what it was like to be in such a quiet place. We, toddler included, really enjoyed our visit. Thank you, Ms. Welch!

Going back in time

Property is a renovated historic bank with lots of interesting artifacts keeping with the time period. Beautiful architectural details have been preserved. Be aware before you go that there is basically nothing to do in Bartlett except enjoy the history of the area. It is such an easy drive to Georgetown, Salado, and Temple that staying in a virtual ghost town was not an issue, in fact we found it rather charming.

A weekend stay that will stay with me

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Bartlett National Bank. I’m a lifetime lover of old buildings and this was such an amazing opportunity. I spent the weekend searching out the smallest details of the craftsmanship and beauty of this historic building. The rental was well appointed for our needs. The interior was simply lovely. The split air conditioning units had no problem keeping up on 100 degree Texas June days. Outside, there is a table and chairs. Perfect for soaking up the peaceful and mostly abandoned Main Street. I thoroughly enjoyed waving back at locals as they drove by. The slow pace was a welcome getaway from daily life. The first bit of traffic we experienced upon driving home felt like I was being pulled out of another time 😔. We’ll be back. The host was so easy to communicate with and very helpful. We joined her and a few others for an evening walking tour of the town. Jennifer was a wealth of knowledge about the town’s history and even included a couple of ghost stories when I mentioned I was interested. Her passion for this bank and this town is contagious!

What a gem!!

I stumbled on to this property located midway between our home and where our friends live and had to stay here. My husband is a banker and I couldn’t think of a better way to surprise the group on April 1st! We loved reading about all of the original features and seeing all of the love and hard work that went into this quaint, comfy place to land for the weekend. The TV was never touched… the walls soaked up our laughter and we left with happy hearts and memories that will never leave us. We have stayed in homes on Civil War battlegrounds, ocean front homes with the sound of waves lulling us to sleep and beautiful mountain cabins…. But, THIS little bank in Bartlett is my favorite! Put this place on your list of places to stay!

Very nice owners. Communicative and friendly. Unique property that’s been given lots of love and care. This would be a perfect venue for a small catered party with a few overnight guests. We were spending a birthday girls weekend shopping in Salado and Georgetown. Would not recommend for a cozy place to stay inside and veg. Otherwise, a good one-of-a-kind experience.

Loved staying here. This place is truly unique. We found it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. There is a totally cute liquor store across the street if you need such. You are within an hour of all sorts of amazing places to visit like Austin. Definitely recommend staying here with friends or family.

Took my mom here for her birthday weekend. We loved it! Very cozy for such a large space. We enjoy history and all the original details and memorabilia throughout were so interesting and really added to the experience. Communication with the owner, Jennifer, was professional and prompt.

Awesome property, like stepping back in time

Great place to stay for a couple of nights! It's definitely off the beaten path, so restaurant options are limited. The kitchen is amazing though! And the bacon burgers at the butcher/grocery store in Granger were fantastic. The building is like a time capsule, with framed works from the original bank as well as newspapers from past world events like Pearl Harbor and Reagan's attempted assassination. A unique adventure!

A few too many issues during our stay

I have never not given a 5 star review of a property so I first want to say there are many positives to this old bank. You will be wowed when you first enter if you love history or historic places. Beautiful ceiling work, much of the original tile, the old wooden teller booths, original paint that is sealed, and old vault serving as a pantry are all fabulous. But we had 3 issues that were a challenge to make our stay enjoyable. When we arrived we texted that our mini split in our downstairs bedroom was not working. All other units were working. The host told us the prior renters had told her that it wasn't working and she called a repairman - that she planned to text us to tell us. She said the previous renters had closed the doors to the dining room, to which the bedroom is connected, and if we did the same the air would then seep into the bedroom and it would be comfortable to sleep. I feel I should have been contacted as soon as she had found out it was not working to give us the option of deciding if we still wanted to stay. And after reading other reviews this was not the first time this was a problem. I was willing to give it a shot overnight and hope the repairman came the following day. The room was tolerable to sleep but the bathroom was not. If you bathed or used a hair dryer it became intolerable on a 100 degree day in Texas. Also, when the listing says it has television I assumed you could watch broadcast television because we are big Olypics fans. When we there was no signal I was told I needed to sign into my own Netflix or Prime account to watch anything. It was signed into her Netflix so we were able to watch that, but very disappointed there would be no Olympics during our stay. I felt it should be explained in the listing that this isn't regular TV. Also, toilets were clogged upon arrival & she immediately sent repairman who tried to plunge, but it needed to be snaked. He told us he would return the next day while we were gone & left us a plunger. We had to plunge that night and next morning to use the bathroom since not even one piece of paper would go down. (we went to the gas station to do anything other than pee) It was fixed the following day. The air was not. I texted & explained the issues I had & that as a result, I would not be leaving a 5 star review. I received the response of "I will kindly do the same". I was hoping for an offer of at least a fan for that night. No go. Disappointed.

Disappointed in many levels

My family checked into this VRBO rental space on Friday afternoon around 3:30pm for a brief vacation from our home in Austin, Texas. Although we noticed that the air conditioning was noisy, we did not contact the owner about the noise. Unexpectedly an air conditioning repair man shows up, examines the air conditioning, and explains to us that he would need to return at a later time with another person and ladder to access the roof. He also commented how hard it was to find other people willing to work on the roof and left. Within 20 minutes of his departure one of the AC units started pouring out water onto the floor near a staircase. This was significantly more than a drip and it continued to spill water as long as the unit was running.We needed towels and a bucket to catch the water.This is when we contacted the owner. It is obvious that there was a problem with the air conditioning before our arrival and the problem was not attended to in a timely manner. We were never informed about this issue before we arrived nor given an opportunity to cancel and/or reschedule our visit. This is Texas. It is hot and living without air conditioning is problematic. This is also the time of Covid and we have an unvaccinated 9 year old with us. We needed to ask The repair man to wear a mask when he entered .Having repair persons in the unit was not an acceptable situation. Bartlett is a small town with a mostly deserted main street and really no safe air-conditioned place to go while the repair work was being done. For this reason, we decided to leave the premises and return home in Austin. The owner/agent to this date has denied my request for a refund a
