We needed a place close to the hiking trail we were going to do that could sleep our whole group, and this was close. Unfortunately the trails were closed due to wild fires a couple nights before our stay. Because of the late notice, we couldn't cancel our stay. We had to drive an hour and a half the next morning to get to another trail where we camped, but this cabin was large enough to accommodate our church group, we just couldn't enjoy our stay as long as we had hoped. We were only at the house long enough to relax before bed and get a good night sleep. Less than 12 hours total. Otherwise this house looks to have been a great place to enjoy and relax.
We had a fantastic post-Christmas stay at Acorn Ridge Lodge in Bayse. The house was perfectly large enough to accommodate our multi-generational family group, with rooms plenty big enough for us all and well spaced for privacy. It was great having the games room and home theatre for those of us who wanted to socialise, while the upstairs loft area and entry level family room provided cosy chill areas for those wanting some quiet time. Bayse itself is great for outdoor activities and country amenities. Visiting the vineyards and distillery nearby were great activities, along with mountain walks and skiing. Hosts were fantastically welcoming with great communication and friendly vibes. Canât wait for our next stay. Perhaps in summer so we can mountain bike and paddle on the lake!
Acorn Ridge was great for our long weekend with two families (four kids ages four to eight). The house was clean, comfortable and has some great amenities. We hiked at the nearby lake, explored Shenandoah caverns and had a great afternoon at a local brewery.
