We've stayed at many VRBO properties over the years, and our biggest disappointment was the value for the price. This rental is marketed and priced as a premium property, but the overall experience, amenities, and condition did not justify the cost. The listing photos were also misleading, making the property appear much more updated and well-maintained than it felt in person.There were several issues that impacted our stay. Only one small towel was provided per guest with no extras, and there was no washer/dryer available. There was an occasional sewer smell, and the air conditioning was inadequate for the size and layout of the home. Cooling consisted of only two window-style units—one in the upstairs bedroom and one in the main living area—leaving other areas quite warm. The upstairs bathroom also lacked an exhaust fan, forcing heat and moisture into the already warm bedroom.We also noticed several maintenance concerns, including a loose screw on the blue bridge, a broken lamp that appeared to present an electrical issue, worn wood along the exterior of the house, and no swim ladder despite water access. The outdoor furniture was inexpensive plastic and uncomfortable for extended use.The highlights were the wonderful back deck, cute décor, cozy throw blankets, comfortable beds, and the dark upstairs bedroom that made for great sleeping. Overall, this property has potential, but for the premium price we paid, we expected far more. We left feeling disappointed.
