This rental is the Gold standard when compared to the many VRBO's we've rented in the past. The renovations expertly championed the home into modern times without losing it's historic charm. The host has done an superb job anticipating every client's needs. The comfortable furnishings were selected specifically to accommodate the open floor plan, in contrast with many other rentals appearing to be furnished with grandma's hand me downs. The kitchen was stocked as well as our own. The proprietors provide ample kitchen supplies and toiletries. We are currently reviewing our calendar for our next visit.
This was definitely our best VRBO stay ever! From the cute, whimsical decor to the well-stocked kitchen and baths, we appreciated the owner's thoughtfulness and attention to details. Hope to be back one day!
The overall excellence of the homeâs amenities made living there a breeze. The kitchen was well outfitted as were the bathrooms. The home was in excellent condition, and the charming decor made it feel like home right away.
All the rooms were clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. The restoration was well done and allows the home to offer the charm of the past with all the modern conveniences. The house is in a perfect location for all that Beaufort and the surrounding area have to offer. Communication with the host was timely and very much appreciated. We hope to return to the area and when we do this home will definitely be our first choice.
Our 3rd stay and certainly not our last. Perfect location, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Alison & Bill think of everything to make their guests feel welcome. We would not consider staying anywhere else when we visit.
This property was immaculate and I cannot wait to rebook for next year!! The proximity to downtown is a perfect short walk and I love for the front porch and swings. It was also so nice to actually go somewhere else and be able to feel like you were in your own kitchen cooking and not have to take anything else with you. The gas range and perfectly sharpened knives were such a nice surprise. There's also your washer and dryer on property so we were able to clean our clothes before I left. It made unpacking with children. So much easier. We also found it beautifully decorated and it was easy enough to childproof the house for our 14-month-old.
Well maintained, CLEAN, with lots of homey and helpful touches. Close to Parris Island for my son's Marine graduation. Enjoyed how close we were to the Bay Street shops. Would gladly stay here again. Thank you!
This was our 3rd time staying at this sweet house. It is so comfortable and welcoming. The house is furnished with everything you need (I love the washer and dryer). We really like the location. We can see the marsh and Beaufort river from the front porch and it is walkable to downtown. We also love driving to the surrounding islands. There is so much to do and see in and around Beaufort! The host communicates with you before you arrive and is easy to get in touch with if anything is needed. We hope to stay here a 4th time someday!
We have stayed at the cottage many times. It never disappoints. I am only disappointed when I have to leave. You can tell that the place is loved and cared for. Thanks Allison!
Alison was wonderful to work with and the home was beautifully and lovingly restored. The location is in the historic district of Beaufort and very convenient to Bay St. and many restaurants and shops. It is very close to high traffic streets though but we soon learned how to avoid those. The front porch is a great place to read and sip your favorite beverageâour dog enjoyed watching birds and squirrels from there too. All in all we had a fabulous visit and look forward to returning soon.
We always want to stay here when we visit. Enjoyed the beach, dining out and walking downtown. The local library down the street provided researcher appointments and was a great addition to this trip. Already booked again for fall tours. Terri
Loved the propertyâŠ.neighborhood was quiet. Few houses down the street that were in poor condition. Never felt uncomfortable. Liked the security system. For privacy, needs to be curtains or blinds on windows on each side of door. Also could use an extra hook or two in the master bathroom. The history of the house was interesting and restoration was amazing . Very comfortable and well decorated. Would stay there again .
The pictures do not do this little home justice It is very pretty and well appointed and I love the way the 2 bedrooms are at 1 end of each side so you have your own space with 2 beautiful bathrooms as well as some mugs that I would have loved bought, they had great placement of everything, can't recommend enough. They did a beautiful job on this renovation. It's a beautiful plaperiod great location.
Walked in early to clean and cozy Vrbo. Wonderfully decorated. Mile easy walk to Bay Street. Cafe with coffee and pastries across the street so you can enjoy a delicious treat on the porch swing! Quick response. Thank you for sharing your home !
This beautifully renovated Freedman's cottage, filled with history if only walls could talk, is a joy to stay in. This was our third year and we enjoyed every moment. The addition of the rocking chairs on the front porch was wonderful. We were disappointed only in that we were unable to rebook for next year as it was already taken!
Loved the property, great location and owner was very accommodating! The home is newly renovated and they thought of everything to make our stay comfortable!
We have stayed at the cottage several times. We love it. It is always clean and feels like home. Alison is an excellent host who always communicates quickly with guests. We will be back!
We loved the Cottage on Congress. It looks exactly as shown in the pictures on the internet. Very comfortable and cozy house with everything you need for your stay. Easy walk to the town of Beaufort and easy access to local restaurants. We will definitely rent this cottage again!
