A Kentucky Home Away From Home

It is a lovely property, set in a country location, quiet and serene, surrounded by wonderful bucolic fields and a nice pond. It is located a short 15-minute drive from town, on a small paved road, with little traffic and very quiet. Cellular service is present, and the cell phone and the internet work well and are speedy. But you'll likely want to spend your time away from the computer, sitting on the front porch, or exploring the local area and beauty of the land. The property is thoughtfully furnished, has comfy, rustic country decor, and lacks nothing. There is a Keurig machine for enjoying your morning coffee while sitting on the front porch. The layout is excellent, complete with two large two-bedrooms, very comfy beds, a nice living room, and a full bath. The interior is very lovely and stays cool, with whole-house A/C, so it is very quiet (no noisy window units). It is partially shaded by trees, so it is cool in the summer, and it has a nice farmer's porch for sitting and watching life go by. Southern hospitality at its best; the owners are very kind, friendly, and gracious, like staying with family.

My stay at the cottage

Country atmosphere, clean, lots of space to play for dog, great guest hosts. Christy was on top of it and very easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a nice, relaxing getaway.

Comfortable but you don’t fell by yourself

Sleeping and indoor relaxing was very comfortable. Lacking any end tables and all lights are connected to Ceiling fans with only one on/off switch. It was very hot outside and we were able to set air conditioning to our comfort level.That was very nice. Ceiling fans in all rooms helped keep it cool throughout. Outside was a little different the fishing pond even though my wife floated in it didn’t seem the best for swimming. There is a shared driveway on one side as well as a new venue going up on the other. We were lucky enough not to have an event going on at this new venue however people showed up to look at it later in the eve and left the lights on in their vehicle which shinned into or window. There were small children that followed us out to the scenic outlook like they didn’t want us out there so we didn’t stay out there to observe and one of those children ran around the house we were staying in and actually ran across the front porch. In summary I never meet Christy she did talk to my wife for a minute but we did talk to the gentleman and unfortunately if he told me his name I forgot it. The Gentleman was very courteous and polite and quick to address any issues (he is the other part of the shared driveway) In conclusion it my have been our faults as guest not to google map it to see how close the neighbors were but we were hoping for more of all to ourselves

Country Charm

My family rents properties from Vrbo a couple of times a year. This was the cleanest property I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The hospitality of the hosts was out of this world! Nicest, most accommodating hosts we’ve ever had, and we enjoyed chatting with them. There were a couple of minor things that deducted from a 5 star rating. The house is pretty old. The floors creak, the doors don’t shut right, and one of the rooms needs painting (but hosts mentioned they plan on doing that soon). Also, the back of the property is beautiful countryside, but there’s no way to view it other than walking around the house. I wish it had a porch in the back. Also, the water from the fridge tastes really bad, like maybe it has mold in the water line? I’m not sure, so we just drank bottled water the whole time. The description warns that the wifi may be spotty, but once we reset it, we didn’t have any issues at all, except maybe slightly slower downloads. I was expecting way worse for how far out the property is, but I was pleasantly surprised. Also, the fish in the pond are quite entertaining. They bite well and they are fun to feed. Overall, it’s still an enjoyable getaway from everything. With a little fixing up, this could easily be a 5 star, and the owners seem to enjoy what they do, and will likely continue to put the work in. It definitely has a country charm to it. If you choose this property, you won’t regret it!

Country Get Away

The cottage is charming and the owners are wonderful people. The place is very clean and the grounds well kept. Far enough out to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to the area attractions without driving all day to get to them. We couldn't ask for a better combination.

Beautiful nature setting

The property was as relaxing and beautiful as any we have been to. Nature all around, great country drives, abundant wildlife . Fishing or just country walks, a very relaxing way too short stay. The hosts went above and beyond to make the trip top notch. A hidden gem. Highly recommend .
