Upon arrival, my booking could not be found for approximately 20 minutes which was inconvenient. The room was spacious (shared female dorm room for 6 people) but the beds had to be made ourselves and the mattresses were extremely thin so it was a hard surface to sleep on. There was extremely bad wifi at the room, it was too weak to load websites. The showers were warm and the bathroom facilities were generally good. Okay hostel for the price, could be cleaner in general and wifi could have been better. Ideal for a cheap one-night stay.
If you need any kind of luxary, this is not the hotel for you. But if you only use it for the night, and want a cheap hotel, in a very good area. This could be it.
The location was wonderful and the price was not bad. The staff were nice and helpful. The bad part is the room was not clean, mainly the bed. The sheets did not seem clean.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Stay somewhere else if you like to explore.
The hotel is way out of the city. Close to the airport sure. But the local transport is not great. The staff had very little English knowledge. Plus there isnât anything close by to check out or even eat.
The best things about the hostel are its location in a Hutong neighbourhood and its very low price. It's close too Qianmen Metro station and Tiananmen Square. Staying in this old part of Beijing lets you experience a part of lively old Beijing that is vanishing fast. The people are friendly and one always feels safe.
Rooms are very basic and the standard of cleanliness is at the lower end of the scale. The air conditioning worked well, which is important during the hot summer months.
Staff was very friendly but did not speak English. Communication was a bit of a challenge.
The building is an old traditional Hutong courtyard with a colourful history.
We stayed for two weeks and in the end we were actually sad to leave.
The hostel is located down a random alley. It was a bit difficult to find. Our plane to Beijing was delayed so we arrived later than expected. Once we got to the front desk, the receptionist said she couldn't find our booking, even though I showed her the confirmation number and email. It took her 30 mins to finally figure things out. The price we paid for the room was definitely not worth it. We got a double standard. The room was very damp, dingy and old. We paid about $45 for this room, which is not worth that price for the conditions it was in. One of the outlets by the bed didn't work as well.
Room was old but spacious, clean, and very fresh/clean sheets. Staff spoke English and were very happy to help. I booked for seven nights but ended up staying only three. They reimbursed me without a problem.
