First of all, receptionists on arrival & departure were lovely and helpful. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The reason for the mediocre review is 2 issues 1. I’m sure when I made my 2 night booking I booked and paid for Breakfast for myself and my husband.. however when we arrived the booking showed room only. It was impossible to check and I would like to see the process I went through when I booked the twin room. I had also made a room booking for 1 night for my son through same website and this did include breakfast.. so I paid extra £26 for Sunday breakfast so we could all eat together.. Disappointed that my booking did not contain breakfast 2. The Sunday breakfast was absolutely dreadful. The plates, glasses, cups and bowls weren’t washed properly.. There was minimal selection for vegans/vegetarians.. and there was only boiled egg available.. we had to wait for croissants to be replenished.. again, a disappointing experience.

Stayed here many times and would stay again. Good parking and fairly modern throughout. The gym and pool are great and well looked after. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the bathroom was tidy. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice, although it is quite expensive. The evening meal was nice but there weren’t many healthy options available. The room was comfortable, but there was no fan, which would have helped. Overall, a good place to stay and I would happily return.

Nice hotel, traditional decor maybe in need of an update. Room was clean spacious and comfortable though. Food is generally pretty good if a little on the pricy side. Breakfast had the usual choice of items. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Good for dinner was not great for the price. steak wasn’t the best cut of meat and Chips undercooked, Colleague had ceased salad and it was swimming in the sauce. Rooms are noisy. Staff were really nice and professional

The room was a king room ( two twin beds joined together) very uncomfortable and the beds were awful. Only pizza was a available on the friday night on the late night menu. Breakfast was cold on Sunday morning (sausages, bacon and beans), no pastries. Very poor compared to how previous stays have been.

Disappointing experience – not what I expected from Hilton Unfortunately, this stay didn’t live up to the Hilton standard I was expecting. In the bar/lounge area, we sat near a TV hoping to watch the news or football and tried to order a simple snack (garlic bread). We were told food wasn’t allowed there, as it wasnt considered part of the restaurant. This was confusing, as the area looked and felt similar, and there was also a “please wait to be seated” stand nearby. The policy felt overly restrictive and unclear. Adding to this, another group sat near to us and appeared to receive warmer, more flexible service, which made the experience feel unfair. The room itself was also disappointing. While not filthy, it lacked a “Hilton feel” — there was a large red stains on the carpet, a noticeable mark on the bedroom mirror, very old and unattractive windows that didn’t match the décor, and noise from doors slamming below (at first I thought it was fireworks). Overall, the room felt more like a budget hotel than a Hilton. Given the premium pricing (e.g. £15 for a large glass of wine), I expected much better in terms of comfort, clarity, and guest-focused service.
