The host was very friendly and proud of the historical significance of the Monroe family property, which indeed was interesting. However, the stay did not live up to its promise for a $300/night B&B. The facilities inside were charming, but outside was not beautiful at all. It could be a beautiful place, but the landscaping was not maintained with overgrown bushes, weeds, gas not cut and lack of flowers and decoration on the property. The breakfast eggs were good but the pancake and waffle were very average. A better selection and portion size would be appropriate. Overall our stay was disappointing and certainly not worth the $300 price tag, especially since the location was not walking distance to South Haven for sight seeing and entertainment. A little regular maintenance on the property to enhance its charm would be a game changer and make it memorable for customers.
