This is a very central hotel, and at first glance is very much in the traditional mould. However everything is modern, comfortable and works. There's even a pool and the breakfast was very good. The parking is limited but there's (paid) public parking right outside. Overall very good value for money.

We were really impressed with this hotel. We have toured France for three weeks, Bergerac was our last stop. Having stayed in boutique accommodation with Michelin star restaurants and paid through the nose for it, it was a refreshing change to get good value for money at an equally good hotel like this one. From a great central location you can wander to the beautiful old town easily on foot. The checkin was quick and easy. We took advantage of the garage parking, although there is plenty of metered parking right outside the hotel. The rooms had everything you could need and look to have had a nice recent refurb as decor and electrical items all looked new. The staff were approachable and friendly and if in this part of France in the future we would definitely choose to stay at Hotel de France again.

A nice hotel in a superb location close to the centre of Bergerac. The breakfast was very good value and had a good variety of items available. I did not have a car but there is good public parking available right outside the hotel. It is an easy walk to the train station. A refurb would be beneficial but the hotel is perfectly good as it is.

Location is quiet but close to the old town. About 10/15 mins walk from the station. Breakfast was fine. Staff were helpful and the front desk was always manned. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However room 1 is a strange layout with soarate bedroom, toilet and shower room. It was possible to hear the people next door and the noise of water in the exposed downpipe in the toilet was very loud when anyone upstairs flushed, especially at night.

the hotel is set only a few meters from the old town which is great when visiting and to find good restaurants. The owners were very friendly and helped us when we had queries. the room was spacious and the aircon great on very hot days, the addition of a small fridge was great as we stayed a few days and could leave food and drinks in it. the only down side was the swimming pool, the water was cold for a mid summer day and unfortunately the mosquitos didn't help (but this is problem almost everywhere in France now).
