Everything here was average, but our room was really affected by noise from other guests inside and outside.and the metal ramp outside our room where suitcases were being rolled up and down caused a terrible racket. Worse though, was the room was so cold. The tiny quilts did not help.

The rooms needs better cleaning and maintenance. We stayed in a private family -room in building 2. Walls are thin so you can hear absolutely everything from the neighboring rooms. Check-in was super strange and a total chaos. My confirmation number from Expedia was not working on their automatic machines so I waited in line to get help from a customer representative at the reception. I wasn't the only customer having issues with the machine, it seemed to be a general issue. The staff insisted I try again with the machine with some "tips and tricks" from them which by the end worked out but my question to A&O is: if your machines are not working, isn't the staff there to do things manuals?. I felt I was dealing with a robot instead of a human. The rooms need to be cleaned more often. I found dirt and mold in the shower!! Definitely not what I had experienced in other A&O locations (Berlin Hbf and München for example). I get this is a hostel but for a family room I expected way more. Bottom line: cheap- built rooms with poor isolation from the noisy street (it's in Mitte but bordering Kreuzberg). Area around the hostel is not clean but hey! So is Berlin right?

Property was okay but the staff was rude and they didn’t explain to me about the rooms I wanted they booked me for a room with several beds and told me that I couldn’t cancel it after I went to the room and saw it wasn’t what I wanted I didn’t even stay there I had to book a different hotel to stay at….they didn’t explain that it was a dorms they told me after I paid I would never recommend anyone to stay there…the staff wasn’t helpful at all

Hotel is basically a Youth Hostel and not really the best place for a middle aged couple to stay unless you’re into hosteling. Food offering very basic and breakfast wasn’t worth the money.
