Fantastic stay.

Everything is automated and worked seamlessly. The room was very clean, with a chic and modern design that matched the photos perfectly. The kitchen was well equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, and all the necessary utensils. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The essentials room was fully stocked with towels, linens, garbage bags, and toilet paper—basically everything you might need if you ran out of something. The location was great, with the U-Bahn just a 10-minute walk away. It’s situated in West Berlin, which has a more upscale, polished vibe. If you’re looking for the edgier, East Side Berlin experience, this might not be the right fit. A few small drawbacks: there are no blackout curtains, so the room gets quite bright with the morning sun. My room faced the street, and while there was no traffic noise, I could hear sounds from the hallway—other guests, slamming doors, and cleaning staff. Earplugs are provided, but they weren’t enough to completely block out the noise.

Luckily everything worked so I can’t comment on the lack of a front desk when it doesn’t work. On other sites there were mentions of people going through their belongings which prompted me to have everything with me at all times. The room was almost perfect for our family, and I would stay here again, and recommend it to others traveling alone or as a couple. The one truly unacceptable thing was the sofa bed, it was of such little quality that the children were sliding between the springs. They were in tears and we ended up with all four in our queen bed. I appreciated not having a key because if someone had to run back upstairs for a forgotten item they just needed our code. But every coin has two sides, and so the level of suspicion of the person or persons standing behind you increases, and so no holding the door for anyone. Certainly not very civil. If you have trouble sleeping when it is noisy, then request a room away from the street. And parking even to unload is nonexistent, as the sort of people that frequent the bakery right next door don’t have to follow the rules and park in the loading zone. I hope this helps others navigate their decision making process.

The photos are extremely misleading. My room was very small, not as photographed at all. The photos show a very spacious room, and mine was the size of a postage stamp. I could barely open my clam shell suitcase. I also expected a kitchenette, but I got a fridge and a coffee maker. It was very expensive for me to say here and I was disappointed. Trying to contact the office via WhatsApp is also a bit of a challenge. You are connected with a bot, until you get through a long phone tree and then eventually you text with a live person. I gave it two stars because my room was very clean and the room itself appeared new. The neighborhood is ok and relatively convenient.

Berlin October 2023

I stayed at numa Novela for a long weekend and was glad I had booked here for my stay. I booked a suite with Balcony. The room was bright, airy and extremely spacious. It was clean, well appointed and equipped with everything you need, including the added benefit of a small kitchenette area. The Nespresso coffee machine was a welcome extra 👍). It was great to have the option to open the doors to the balcony and absorb the sights and sounds of the city below, but can shut out all of the hustle and bustle when the doors are closed. There are some good restaurants within walking distances and the most amazing bakery next door to the hotel. The hotel isn’t the most central but travelling around is made easy by the U & S Bhan - and the many walkable station options. I would definitely book again.

Clean, well kept, quiet (with windows shut), remote staff are very responsive. Generally, accomodation in west Berlin is quite far from the sites in east Berlin, but public transport is efficient and reliable.
