Th house is as advertised, on the quiet side of Acadia. Beautiful views, plenty of space with air conditioning working well. It was a great space for our group of 7 people and I would stay again and recommend to others.
There were four of us, visiting Acadia for the first time in many years. Although the weather wasnât great, our accommodations were terrific, well located, clean and as advertised.Thank you to our hosts!
We had a great stay at this cozy cottage. There was plenty of room and all the amenities we needed. We noticed many updates had been made, which was very nice. The views were amazing and my kids loved being able to explore along the water.
I stayed here with my parents, siblings, and fiance and had a lovely time! The location is great for everything on the quiet side of MDI and still just 30 min away from Bar Harbor and everything on the main side. We loved the screened in porch (because the mosquitos are no joke in the summer), ping pong table, and stocked kitchen for meals. Also a great price compared to others we were seeing! Definitely recommend!
This is such a special property on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island. The home was perfect for our family, with plenty of space to spread out and several different living areas if people wanted some peace and quiet. We brought our paddle boards and enjoyed exploring the cove every day. The home was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and we would love to return in the future!
Our family, kids and grandkids, really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home on Duck Cove. The house had everything we needed and our kiddos spent a lot of time exploring the beach. The house is located close to great hiking trails but also far enough away for quiet time and relaxing by the cove. The owner, Tom, was readily available when we needed anything. We loved our time there. Great vacation!
My family and I enjoyed the house very much during our July stay. The location right near the water made for beautiful views, and my kids loved going right down the stairs to the rocky shoreline to explore. A few small things that could be updated/maintained: screens and windows needing repair (the screens did seem to have let some bugs in), some mattresses needing replaced soon, and the dining chairs (and cushions) had some wear and tear (some chairs felt unstable to sit on). But the property overall was great, and the hosts provided so many of the essentials, including linens and towels, paper towels and toilet paper, even handsoap and hotel-style shampoo and conditioner. We really appreciated all that was provided. It was about a half hour drive over to Bar Harbor and main Acadia sites. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!
This rental was ideal for our family to explore MDI and to enjoy quality time together. Thomas readily replied to inquires to address any questions we had.
We loved the water views, sunsets, location on the quieter side of the island and accessibility to Acadia Park. My husband and I brought our two children, their spouses and and three grand children under four. We made full use of the extra bathrooms, laundry facility, roomy kitchen, screened porch and barbecue, The house could could use a bit of updating, but it was so comfortable that as time passed it began to feel like home - the way a family cabin would. The owner is quite responsive, left good instructions and supplied all our needs.
The house was perfect, situated on a very nice cove, in a pleasant and calm area. we had everything we needed to make the stay memorable. Thank you Thomas for being a great host.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful vacation enjoying Mount Desert Island and the amenities offered at this wonderful house! It was amazing to come back here after a day out and about to the beautiful views and beach combing. Very relaxing space.
Perfect for relaxing. Well kept and equipped. Loved the evening cocktails on the back overlooking the water and catching the sunset. Only wished we did less tourist stuff and hung out here.
Our home on Duck Cove was very cozy. It was spacious and a great place to gather in the evenings. Loved having four bathrooms. The weather was not very accommodating, but Mother Nature is the boss. We were in close proximity to most of the places we wanted to go.I would probably go a week earlier, next time as a good deal of places were closed for the season already. I also would have flown out of Portland and rented the car from there. The downfall with the Bangor airport is the plane leaves at 5:30 in the morning and you need to stay at a Bangor hotel the night before.Maine is a beautiful state!
This location was perfect for us. Everything was exactly as advertised and the owner was extremely responsive to all requests. We have no negative feedback to give and will be back another time.
Between the hiking and white water rafting, my friends and I were able to rest at this amazing dwelling not far from Bar Harbor. We were all extremely comfortable, able to spread out and be alone while also having plenty of communal space to further hangout if we wanted. The view of the water from the living room is breath taking, particularly at sunset. Highly recommend for anyone but especially those who with slightly bigger families.
The house was very spacious for our group of 4 adults and 4 tweens with an awesome view of the cove! I loved the breeze & view from the bedroom near the reading nook. The kids had a ton of fun finding shells at low tide and playing ping pong in the game room. We cooked a few meals and the house had some spices & cookware that we used, was well stocked with paper goods & cleaning supplies. The location was perfect, close to SW harbor, Echo beach, hiking trails & 30 minutes to Bar Harbor and the other side of Acadia.
There are a few things to note, I had to reach out to the new Owners about the code to get in and the Wifi info. There is no information book about the house; where does the garbage go, cleaning/laundry expectations before we leave, house emergency info. The towels are very thin and all of the shower curtains are moldy. With the amount we paid to rent the house for a week, these things shouldâve been taken care of, in our opinion. I know they just bought the house recently, so hopefully they will have some time during the off season to remedy a few of these things. Luckily, the owner was pretty responsive when we had a question.
Otherwise, we absolutely loved visiting Acadia and hope to visit again someday soon!
