Second visit to this hotel and really enjoyed the comfortable bed, lovely spa and good bar food. It is a little remote so not ideal if you need to be right on top of things but the nearby town of Bicester covers that.

My mum is 87 and disabled and the check in staff, James especially, and Ian who was identified as the person who would assist us in an emergency were very patient, kind and helpful. The accessible en suite bathroom was excellent and food in the bar was good too. Good graduated steps into the pool and jacuzzis at the spa too. A few things that would improve the hotel would be automatic entrance and exit doors as they were too heavy for my mum to open and didn't stay open for her and her walker to go through so she needed accompanying everywhere. Also, some blankets in the room would be helpful n case needed - although when we called reception to ask for one for my mum who wasn't warm enough in bed, an extra duvet was brought to our room within minutes. Some of the doors/window frames at the back of the hotel near the terrace overlooking the lovely lake need repainting as they look a little tired. Some paper room service menus, coffee bags instead of instant coffee in the room, instructions on the lockers (we had to ask spa users) and a water dispenser with cups in the spa would be lovely. Only minor things though and didn't spoil a lovely stay.

Another great stay at this hotel. However on arrival I found the receptionist (a blond haired older woman with glasses) to be a little lacking in customer service skills. The room was nice, modern and clean, but I noticed the curtains had come off the rails a bit so didn’t fit well. Also, the carpet was looking a bit grubby. I found the superfood salad very odd and couldn’t work out what was in it. It did however taste good! I think there needs to be more of a vegetarian range which doesn’t include mushrooms as not all vegetarians like them! The spa area was really nice but it’s a shame children can only go in two slots per day. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come again!

Comfortable hotel for a solo traveler. Food good. Rooms and decor very tired. Staff indifferent to guests and customer service average — not what I expected from a four-star hotel. Book spa treatments well in advance. I had booked and paid for stay before being told there were no treatment appointments available for the three days I was there. (Was offered on for two days after my stay.)

I found the hotel to be very short staffed and a bit unorganised. I rang the hotel several times and no one answered my calls. Also no one returned my calls. The room was nice and clean and the food was what you would expect. Although they ran out of ham for the ham sandwich so had to have cheese! To be honest the staff tried there best but just under staffed
