In the vicinity are three national parks: Paklenica and Krka on the mainland, the Kornati Islands and the Telascica Nature Park on Dugi otok. In addition to its cultural and historical heritage, Biograd has beautiful beaches, picturesque coves and many accommodation options. In the city there are many restaurants offering specialties of local and international cuisine. From Biograd you can take boat trips to the Kornati islands and the Telascica Nature Park on Dugi otok. Nearby (7 km) lies Vransko jezero, the largest freshwater lake in Croatia. Excellent possibilities are also available for sailing and diving. The port of Biograd is popular with boaters crossing the Adriatic Sea and visiting the Kornati archipelago.
