Breakfast was great. Good that there was a pool but the changing room lockers couldn’t be locked. Had to ask for some of the bedding to be changed as it didn’t look fresh. Room was good but the insulation from the upstairs room wasn’t very good. Spent my first hour in bed listening to people walking around above me. All in all though a pleasant place to stay.

All staff very friendly and they all looked happy. Plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast was very nice plenty of food on offer. Room was away from main building. Some noise from rooms either side of us on the morning. You could hear ppl showering and using the toilet.

Check in was smooth but the male attendant wasn't very informative. Our room was seperate from the main hotel in a Butlins style set-up, a short walk away from reception. Parking was available directly outside our chalet which was convenient, and the surrounding gardens were very well maintained. Our room was small and looked tired, with a desperate need for modernisation. The carpet and skirting boards were dirty and the furniture appeared worn and outdated. There was a lack plug sockets and no USB direct chargiing points. My husband found a 4 plug extension cable hidden behind the bedside cabinet, so we utilised this. Therefore, we only had phone charging capabilty on his side of the bed. The shower room also looked tired, with the ceiling fan half hanging out, & the mirror edgeing desilvered. The water from the hot tap was scalding hot, and the shower was running only cold water on our first day. We subsequently had to go to the Spa within the main hitel to have a shower. We did complain about this and the nice gentleman at reception said that he would come over and check it. The following morning, we did manage to have a shower in the room, but the water was tepid, and then ran cold afterwards. The Spa/leisure area was ok, but could also do with a makeover (for example, the first shower I walked into had no water coming through & the jacuzzi was connected to the main pool, so was cold. The steam room had minimal steam, so wasn't very effective. More like a 2/3 star hotel

All good though the room could have improvements, more sockets (there was only 1 dual plug already in part use), better lighting, a tad gloomy and a working extractor in the bathroom and a working towel rail. Restaurant and all staff excellent.

Check in was very slow and was initially told there was no booking for me. Then the booking was found after a few minutes after a lot of awkward whispering between reception staff which made me feel uncomfortable. The room was not part of the main hotel complex and was in an outbuilding, the rear wall of which was less than 10 feet from a busy dual carriageway. With all the sound insulation of a baked bean can, I had the worst night sleep I've ever had and would have been better sleeping in the car. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower periodically scolded me at random points during the shower. The food in the cellar bar provided much amusement between myself and my colleagues due to the small portion size of the fish and chips... at least this provided some fun. I would never stay here again and it's a good reminder to always do your homework before you book. I have arrived for an important meeting feeling like I've been camped out on the hard shoulder of a motorway in a 2 man tent....
Maybe there was a chip shortage in Coventry this week :-)

The comfort of the bed was wonderful and ensured a really good night’s sleep. However the service in the restaurant was very slow. It took over an hour for them to serve our main course, and my belly of pork, although the crackling was good, the meat was so burnt underneath that the crackling was easier to break up than the base of the portion.
