Stayed one night as visiting for Strictly Live at The Utilita (easy 5 min walk). First room had an overflowing loo but we were given an immediate change of room. Room very clean, beds very comfy and was quiet (Sunday evening). The window blind was broken so we couldn’t pull it up. Staff were good, Ken was exceptional and a real asset to the hotel. Breakfast was quiet (9.30am) and was very good. Excellent cappuccino. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Birmingham. Hotel Car park accessed from Tennant Steet not Broad Street.

Perfect location for a gig we attended at the Utilita arena last night- close to a few decent bars for drinks prior and after the gig. (Avoid the Turkish takeaway next door though!) Very good complimentary breakfast his morning. The only downside was the blind was broken by the previous guest and wouldn’t close so we had a broken nights sleep. I couldn’t be bothered to sort it out when I noticed at 1am when trying to close it.

Bed was rock hard. Pillows hard. Could hear pipes all night of others using the toilet or shower. Air con/heating very noisy. Hair on the bed and shower. Breakfast cold and quality poor e.g. grey sausages.
