We had a group of 4 couples who stayed at this beautiful home. Everything was spot on as advertised. The surroundings were awesome, what a beautiful outdoor setting. The game room was an added bonus to enjoy fun games with the group. We vacation together once a year at a different place each year. This is one we would definitely return to.

Amazing family reunion weekend

Our family enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at White Dog. The pool l, hot tub, and game room were a huge hit for both kids and adults alike, and we enjoyed s’mores one evening over the property’s large fire pit. Beds were comfy and weather was perfect (we were there in late June). The host, Melissa, was alsobvery responsive. We are already talking about coming to stay again soon!

Wow!

White Dog Lodge was perfect for our group of old friends visiting the Bourbon Trail. The location was quiet and beautiful, the lodge was spotless and comfortable , the pool was crystal clear, and the cigar lounge and game room far exceeded our expectations. Melissa was friendly, professional, very accessible and quickly dealt with the one small issue we had. Excellent host! We have stayed in many, many rental properties and White Dog Lodge is among the very best!

Staff Retreat 2025 is in the books at your wonderful property and we are ready to schedule next year's retreat with you! You always provide everything we need and we love the beautiful views and sunsets! There are so many things to do with the pool and hot tub and game room! So fun! The property and house were amazing! I visited to use as a getaway and to experience the bourbon trail. My kids would have loved the game room if this wasn’t an adult adventure, but the adults loved it also. The communication with the owner and property team were the best I’ve ever experienced.

Peaceful Oasis

Our host communication was incredible. The house was even better than the pictures and description. Lots of space and plenty of places to congregate. We travel to Kentucky one time per year for work purposes, and will make this our new regular place to stay. The property was absolutely beautiful!

A Perfect home in the beautiful countryside of Kentucky

This home was the perfect place for our family fun week ! Super easy check in and the house was spotless. There were 12 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone. The home has everything you will need for a fantastic stay. Fully equipped kitchen, linens , shampoo…etc. The pool was amazing and we were in it every day!! The poker and game room were awesome and the kids loved it ! So close to Bardstown for lunch or dinner if you want to go out for a night. We loved every thing about White Dog Lodge and can’t wait to come back ! Thank you ,Melissa for a memorable stay !

Awesome place!!!

From the beautiful scenery to the gorgeous log cabin that easily hosted 5 couples!! After several distillery tours each day, it was nice to come back to the property and gather around the fire pit or we spent many nights out in the game room with guys enjoying watching sports on the many tvs while we all played games! Extra perk - all the fall leaves changing color were gorgeous! A wonderful experience!!

UK Graduation/Bourbon Tour Trip

This property is stunning, quiet, well-kept and offers a wonderful gathering place to spend time with family and friends. The house is gorgeous and well-stocked with all the essentials for a relaxing get away. The game room was loved by all and definitely a plus for the colder months when outside activities are minimal. The property is a great location to visit distilleries in the area and it's close to Bardstown, which is a must see at Christmas time. The check-in/check-out process was easy and the hosts were great to work with. We highly recommend this property! Would definitely return here.

Fantastic Family Vacation

Celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with our three children, their spouses and four grandchildren was absolutely amazing at this property. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and spread out. Days were spent in the pool and nights in the game room. We cooked/grilled every night. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Thank you Melissa for the great service! Family Fun

This was an awesome venue for a family vacation of adults ranging in ages from 29 to 80. The Game Room was a big hit with everyone. When you first walk into the building, you are amazed at the size and activities available. The house is absolutely gorgeous and is well stocked. You literally would have no need to bring anything other than your clothes. If you are in need something, Housekeeping & Maintenance is just a call away. We were disappointed that the pool was not heated given we were there in May.There is so much to occupy your time you wouldn't need to go anywhere. A beautiful retreat!

Great home for our large family!

The property was extremely clean and well cared for. We could tell that large efforts were made to ensure our comfort during our stay. I was particularly impressed that everything in the game room was in working order (often at other places we have rented the games are not). We appreciated the fact that the rental included spices in the kitchen, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, and ample soap/shampoo in the bathrooms. I was also impressed that not only the house but also the additional buildings head great wifi coverage. We felt well taken care of and would definitely return.

Cousin's Trip

Every year my cousins and I plan a trip and this year was a Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Horse Racing. The weather did not cooperate. Thank goodness the White Dog Lodge was so comfortable! The house easily accommodated all 9 of us with very large bedrooms. We LOVED the gameroom (separate from the house) with 3 TV's on the wall. Billard table, hockey, ping pong and a 3 point shot game. Great location just outside of Bardstown which is the Bourbon capital of the US, who knew! Defiantly 5 stars!

This place is everything the pictures advertise. We used it all except the fire pit which we would have if it hadn’t been so hot outside. The out buildings are air conditioned and lots of fun. We brought our own puzzles and they fit great on the bar areas in the game room. We caught some fish in the pond, made use of the hammocks, played games in both of the out buildings, swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub, and there was plenty of room for 11 people of different ages in the house. The dining table converts into a long table and we all sat together for breakfast and dinner every day. We had a friendly visit from the big white dog from the neighbors and their cows are friendly also. It was a fun filled peaceful vacation in the rolling hills of Kentucky! Highly recommend this place!

Perfection

I reserved the White Dog Lodge for a Bourbon Trail trip with friends, and it was absolutely the perfect choice. The entire property was exactly as described online and shown on the photos. The house and surrounding scenery were beautiful and peaceful with a front row seat to view the local farm life. The game room was the hit of the weekend and where we spent most of our time, having friendly competition while watching our favorite teams on the multiple TVs. The kitchen and grill were well equipped which made it easy to cook our own meals. It is a short drive to Bardstown and a scenic drive to Louisville, making it the perfect headquarters for visiting distilleries. Melissa was extremely professional and provided everything we needed for a stress-free getaway. I will definitely be reserving this house again for any future trips to the area.

Best Bourbon Trail Getaway

This incredible estate was even better than advertised. With 12 adults we had plenty of space to relax, play, rest, interact, and enjoy the beauty of central Kentucky on a property which seemed brand new, was filled with all the amenities needed, plus had a huge game room and another completely separate bourbon + poker lounge. There is more than enough here to entertain in winter, but we will look to return in summer as there is not only a new hot tub, but a lake, a pool, corn hole, firepit, and more. This is one of those rare properties which would deliver year round. Truly a gem and perfect for friends or family as a base from which to explore the many great bourbon distilleries in central Kentucky. The owners left nothing to chance to ensure we enjoyed our stay and they provide great guides for to-do's in the region. Bravo!

50th Anniversary weekend

We had eleven family members together to celebrate our parent's anniversary. The house and grounds are gorgeous! The layout of the house is great for that many people. Lots of areas to gather and visit or play games. There were a couple hiccups that were addressed very quickly. We also found out they were probably due to lightning or power surge from tornado that had come through the day before our visit. So, we can hardly blame them for freak occurrences. Overall, we all had an amazing time. We wish it had been warmer so we could've used the fire pit and pool. Maybe next time!!

Outstanding property in every way. Nice touches with coffee pods and creamers, a snack basket, the views, the spacious rooms, the left over containers. However, the communication through VRBO with the property manager is a joke. The only reply I got was "all clear" over and over again. The communication directly with Melissa and her team was great. Our recommendations would be: Tell VRBO they need to redesign their "you have a message from Melissa" page, Don't wait till the day of the rental start to have your renters forward a photo I.D. and sign the rental agreement. We were already on the road, and had to pull off to handle these necessary items. That could have been handled way before we were in route. The only other suggestion might be some safety grab bars in the bathroom areas, especially those with the tub/shower combo. Other than that, a wonderful experience well above our expectations. We would stay there again (if you'd have us)! :)
