Great place to use as a "home base" to explore the area. Downtown location - coffee shops, restaurants, and shops all within walking distance. Awesome local co-op close by for groceries abd ither essentials. More space in the unit than the pictures show, and its nice and quiet at night. Would come back again and recommend!
Desperately needs a deep cleaning, updated linens, and an exterminator. Mouse poop on the kitchen counter daily, despite no cooking and the only food brought in was kept in the fridge. Awoken one night by mice loudly rustling an empty bag in the garbage - had to put the garbage out at 2am to get rid of it. Sheets and pillows are old and stained - ended up washing the sheets before using, but they were still stained. No soap for the bathroom sink, no paper towels or coffee filters, and the owner/manager is not very responsive. The one good thing was the location.
This is a very convient location for exploring around the peninsula and Acadia National Park. I appreciated how responsive the owner was and the low key and laid back check in and out process. Thanks for a good stay!
This review is for a different property, a rustic cabin right on the water in Deer Island with a beautiful view called Sweetgrass. The manager said the original place in Blue Hill was out, due to plumbing problems. The cabin in Deer Island had no hot water at first, but the manager was responsive and got it fixed. These things happen. I took one star off for the inconvenience. Sweetgrass cabin was like your grandpaâs place: a little out of date in style, but a great location!
We were given an upgrade gratis to the upstairs, large, 2-bed, apartment. Totally equipped with lovely furniture, some antique, some very modern, high-end appliances, cookery and local pottery dish-ware. Modern/eclectic vibe within an old building. Thoughtful details everywhere from desk to gorgeous bath. Clean. Comfy beds. Lush towels. A little noisy due to being right on the street but the large back deck and sofa set are fabulous.
Located on Main Street in the beautiful town of Blue Hill. Spent a day enjoying not only Blue Hill but nearby Stonington and Deer Island. Rental was clean and well equipped. Comfortable living area. Easy check in.
It was clean, close to our family reunion, and had conveniences over a hotel (small kitchenette and dryer), nice shower and comfy beds. Fun surprise was the old time phonograph and great library.
The apartment was clean and a lot bigger than pictures led me to believe. Everything seems new and fresh but it still has Maine charm. An early miscommunication was solved with grace and ease by the owner, I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in blue hill
Enjoyed Blue Hill Maine and convenient location in the center of Village with shops and restaurants. Property very interesting and well done. Beautiful new deck and outdoor seating area in the back.
We stayed here for just under a week and loved everything about this property. The house was slightly hidden from the outside, and didn't look like much. However, once you walk in, the place is stunning. The place was very quaint with a record player and many old books, but had all the amenities of a modern house. The kitchen had everything we needed, the in house laundry was useful, and the beds/couches were comfortable. This place was also only about 45 minutes from Acadia National Park and only a couple hours to Canada! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to travel.
Our unit was upgraded to the 2nd floor. Donât let the entrance scare you, about 15 stairs to the top in a not so pretty stairwell. When I got to the top I was pleasantly surprised. The kitchen was very well equipped, nothing needed but food! The apartment was smartly decorated and the beds were very comfy! There is a very large deck in the back that we would have spent more time on had the weather cooperated. There is a very good restaurant a few steps away that was very convenient and welcomed dogs. One drawback is that there really wasnât a good place for the dog to potty but we made do.
