Lovely space to venture to and from by foot. Comfortable, clean, and quiet space. Loved being in the heart of historic Marblehead with easy access to places of interest - Fort Sewell, beaches, shopping, history, cuisine and a short drive to Salem. Hope to return
Wonderful apt in old town Marblehead. Charming , clean, and wonderful host. Highly recommend if youâre new to town or grew up there and need a place to stay while visiting. Very lovely spot!
We recently stayed at Sandy Bay Suites in Marblehead. The apartment was great! Very comfortable to relax in with tasteful furnishings. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and checking out this wonderful town. So close to Salem and the Essex Scenic Byway. Would highly recommend! We loved our visit! The hosts were easy to communicate with and accommodating. Thank you!!
Very convenient location. Bed was extremely comfortable. We appreciated the big thirsty towels in the bathroom, though the tub/shower would have been a challenge to enter/exit without the handlebars! The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the place!
Spotless, appointed, cotton sheets, charm, cozy and warm. Spacious bedroom and living room. I was in town visiting family and was super comfortable in this 8 window, wide plank floor upstairs apartment. Small claw footed tub with piping hot water & shower. Lovely place!!! I would stay here summer or winter. Walk to shops, bars and restaurants- super local!! Stair case is challenging with large luggage but doable. Family picked me up - parking is on the street. Loved my time here!!!!
We loved our Marblehead stay! Super cute rental that is walking distance from the main shops. We had no trouble finding street parking close by, and mostly walked everywhere except the beach and Salem.
Our one complaint is the bed. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating, they were not. If you like a bed so hard that it hurts to sleep on your side, you'll love the bed at this rental!
Know that the building is not at all sound resistant, and the floor and bed squeak readily.
I really appreciated how reachable the property owner was. I had to reach out twice and was answered promptly both times.
It was clean, bright, quiet and conveniently located close to our daughter in Swampscott. The place was charming and historic. I would stay but would request for a place on the first floor or a straight staircase. Matt was a great host who sent an email in advance with all the info we needed.
Very clean, spacious for a one bedroom, and fantastic location. Easy walk to shopes, great coffee, and restaurants. This home has a few tenants so be aware you will hear others from time to time. Wasn't too big of a deal for us as we didn't spend a great deal of time inside. The mattress is also quite firm, again not a huge deal but something to note. Overall good place to stay if you want to be right in the heart of the historic distric.
This place is awesome. Well appointed, simple, and close to everything. I went on a solo trip to Salem and stayed here. The entrance opens to the bedroom which was a nice surprise. It made me very comfortable and ready to relax. Fort Seawall and an amazing view of the ocean are a very short walk, downtown and some amazing shops and restaurants are right there. The place is also so close to Salem, Boston, and everything you should need or want. Such a gem to be here.
The property is noisy. Bus traffic and some extended construction. The Kitchen is really non functional. Most of what is in kitchen is well used either extras from someone house or yard sales. The weird coffee maker had mold in it.
Decor was cobbled up stuff.
The bed was as hard as I have ever experienced.
I didnât think they made mattresses that hard.

Back to hotels for me.
Nice place overall. Bright, quiet, clean and conveniently located. Entrance stairs might present a challenge for those with limited mobility. Mattress was not comfortable for me (very hard and unforgiving). Kitchen was decent but missing a means to boil a pot of water or fry an egg. For an extended stay, this would be most appreciated. Alternatively, an electric tea kettle could be a nice addition. Bathroom was more than adequate but the shower was awkward for anyone on the larger side.
So much character in this building. It was a perfectly located and everything was picturesque. Quiet and safe with lots to do. Only a 15 minute Uber to Salem.
