When I went to check in, the receptionist asked when I booked the room. I told him last week and ask why?. He asked if I picked the room we got during booking. I said yes and asked why?. He said the room we picked was “troublesome”. I asked how so?. He said the door doesn’t work. I asked if they had any other rooms. He said they were fully booked. I told him I’d just go somewhere else. He said he can put us in room 22 since the guest who got that room hadn’t arrived yet. Sketch. The pool was okay. There was a giant dried booger stuck to the curtains. Our feet turned black from walking barefoot on the floor of our room. The sheets had hair all over (thankfully we brought our own blankets and pillows). The ice machine didn’t work. The hallways smell like cigarette smoke. We only stayed one night, and we were there MAYBE 12 hours, so it sufficed but I won’t ever go back.

Shower leaked the whole time we stayed and when I asked the front desk about it they said they would put me in a different room but never called me back. When I got back I noticed the door to our room was left open. The front desk was understaffed and often left unattended when needing help. Only two towels were provided per room and no extra towels were available. No coffee makers were in the rooms and coffee in the front office was often empty.

They should post a warning online. If your cell provider is AT&T, you will not have service while you are here. The hotel is quite noisy, lots of slamming doors. There was no one at the desk when we arrived, there was a note that instructed to call a number if no one was there, but since we have AT&T we were unable to make the call. Someone showed up and informed us that he was "off the clock" but he checked us in since no one else was around. We told that we him could not call the number, he said "my phone works". I get that he was annoyed that he was off the clock, but he should have called someone to help us if he didn't want to. The room itself was fine.

The staff was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The property is older and has been updated but is in need of repairs. The lock on the door leading directly outside is broken and has not been taken care of, and the flooring is coming up in spots and should be replaced. There is a slight incline leading into the bathroom that could cause someone older or unsteady to trip and fall. I liked the fact that the bathtub is low for easy access, that is a huge plus for older people.

Our check in went well. The room was about 1/2 the price of those in the next city. Our rooom had a back door that was locked from the outside. The front door had been kicked in more than once, but noone bothered us.
