This home is located in a great area with close proximity to Anna Maria Island, and it offers some very enjoyable features. The dock on the channel was a standoutâwe spent many hours in the sun, caught several fish, and even saw manatees during our stay. The pool was also a big hit with the kids, and the grill was in good working condition. Portions of the home have been nicely updated, including fresh interior paint and what appear to be newer granite countertops in the kitchen. That said, the overall experience was mixed, and the property feels unfinished and inconsistently maintained. While some areas have clearly been updated, others appear to have been overlooked. Multiple window screens and blinds were ripped, and many of the windows could not be opened due to very dated, weathered plastic hardware that was cracking. One side entrance to the lanai lacks pavers, causing sand and rocks to be continuously tracked into the house. Interestingly, there were pavers stacked on that side of the home, suggesting that the work was started but never completed. The listing advertises kayaks and paddle boards, which is a nice amenity; however, no life jackets were provided. With four children using the kayaks, this felt like a significant safety and liability issue. We ended up purchasing four life jackets ourselves (and were reimbursed), but this should not be necessary.
