Staff was very friendly. Rooms were older, but well maintained, not lavish, but practical. On site laundry was convenient and reasonably priced. Although we didn't have time, there was a fire pit where Smores were served during the evening. A fun chance to meet your fellow travelers. Motel is out in the country with the nearest town being Bridgeport 5 miles away. Another motel (smaller) and restaurant were across the street. Motel was very convenient for our visit to Bodie ghost town.
I am so happy I found this little gem in the eastern Sierras! We will be coming back here for sure. You are greeted by Ken (the old guy ha ha) in the office who is kind as can be and very helpful with suggestions on where to go for meals, etc. The place is impeccably clean thanks to the hardwork of Jasmina! We had the opportunity to meet her and talk with her - she was so sweet and thoughtful to make sure we had everything we need in our room - offering to bring more coffee or towels if needed. Then there is Mike who works around the grounds and makes sure the campfire is lit and there are fixings for s'mores (yum!) - this was not just a place to stay, it felt more like a family reunion! We met some wonderful people at the campfire who we hope to meet up with again next year! I would give this place 100 stars if I could. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were cozy and the staff was like family!
We liked the location and especially the beautiful patch about a half mile from the resort to the top of a hill with dramatic views of the valley and the mountain range. What we did enjoy was how cold we were all night long. When I asked the front desk person about it, he re lit the pilot light in the heater and told me that three other rooms had the same problem. He attributed it to former residents turning off the pilot light because of the noise it made. He said this was a common problem. He fixed the problem right away but it didnât improve our sleep the night before. It gets cold in the mountains at night and we lost a great deal of sleep. Given the frequency of this problem, it seems that a simple fix would be for staff to make sure the pilot light to the heater is working before they let anyone use the room. This was most unfortunate because the resort is a very nice, calm, and lovely little place along side beautiful State route 395.
We reported the toilet not working. The staff came, flushed it a few times and left. It continued to not work. Everything was in need of an upgrade, and a good cleaning.
Willow Springs Resort is a beautiful and well-maintained property that truly offers something for everyone. Whether youâre staying in your RV or renting one of their charming bungalows, the setting is peaceful and welcoming. I especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities like the laundry facilities, barbecue area, and comfortable gathering spaces, perfect for relaxing or connecting with others. The staff was incredibly friendly and made the stay even more enjoyable. The bungalow we stayed in was clean, cozy, and nicely appointed. I highly recommend Willow Springs Resort and happily give it five stars!
